In the past coaching the MS Schools was a stepping stone towards the head coaches unemployment line

Tradition doesn't matter to 18 year old black kids unless you're talking top ten kind of tradition. Arkansas hasn't been a powerhouse or traditional power in decades.

You've won four SEC games since 2011. Dan Mullen won that many in October.
I didn't realize a three year span could make up for an entire century of being absolute shite. You frickers just now made it to .500 overall after being under for most of your history. And you want to say you're better than Arkansas

Hugh Freeze turned down the Florida job to stay at Ole Piss.
Do you even keep up with sports bro?

Name the last coach who left State or OM for greener pastures after having relative success?
Only one that comes to mind for either school since the SEC split divisions is Tubberville from OM to AU.
Sherrill stayed at MSU for over a decade and had great success. Croom was fired, he sucked. Mullen is still here after 6 years and has had good success so far.
I wouldn't consider us a stepping stone...no SEC school is a stepping stone. Non power 5 schools are stepping stones. State and OM are middle tier jobs..not elite jobs like Florida, Bama, OSU, etc. but when you look at facilities, coaches pay, fanbase, etc we are a good job compared to many power 5 schools.

Dude had 4 seasons with 3 or less wins
But I guess that's great success for State. You know, considering it's a stepping stone job.

No. The only SEC job that is truly stepping stone is Vandy.

No, obviously not. This off season is proving that.

No SEC job is really a stepping stone job.
Back to your regularly scheduled trolling.

LSU fans would loathe Mullen.

There would only be about two jobs in the country that wouldn't be considered stepping stone jobs using those criteria. I'm sure that won't hinder anyone from making that stupid argument.

The state of Mississippi had a great opportunity to change their football image this year and they couldn't cut it. Kinda sad really. They're probably asking "when is it gonna be OUR time?!" and the realistic answer is never.
Both teams are in the top 10 and made a New Years 6 bowl I think that's pretty amazing imo.
