Tomlinson played in the WAC. The following year, they lost to a mediocre A&M by 19.
Yet he had a stellar NFL career and will be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.

Remember Von Miller? Demarco Murray does.

I'd take TCU in a heartbeat over moon moon

I'd love for the SEC to have two teams from Texas.

I guess keeping A&M out of the CWS would be a net zero for the conference, so, no.

Solid baseball and football + hot chicks. Yep, vote them in boys!
Plus as a bonus they would lock down Dallas recruiting which scares the crap out of Hog and Aggie fan.

No. And the Big 12 would have been much better off getting Louisville.

It really is funny seeing the denial in you Aggots that that small Lil 12 Private school is the most successful program in Texas the last few years

I don't think they're a bad fit but I was happy with ten. Had to go twelve to split the divisions, fourteen to crack the TX tv market, but there needs to be a compelling reason for further expansion.

Threads like these reveal much about which posters are either (a) 20-years-old, and/or (b) know little to nothing about the schools in Texas. That's not meant as an insult; it's intended to highlight the result of the current [misleadng] dog whistle that is a couple of successful football seasons in Fort Worth as of late.
I understand that most SECranters have never spent significant time in Texas. But TCU is comparable to schools like College of Charleston, Furman, University of Richmond, Emory, Loyola Marymount, William & Mary, etc.-- less the academic rigor. TCU's enrollment is smaller than Vanderbilt's--the current smallest SEC member institution. Both TCU and SMU are often the "safe schools" for many kids who attend A&M and UTex.
There's a reason TCU has been in the WAC, Mountain West Conf, and Conf USA in just the last 15 years. The only reason they're where they are now is bc the B12 was frantic for a member, and TCU was the sure thing (in hindsight, the wrong choice).
Some of my best friends matriculated through TCU--and they're great Texans. But that school would be devoured in the SEC--in every way possible. The single variable TCU brings to the SEC is a much-needed, decent town.

Aka doesn't need to be anytime soon, and when/if does, needs to be in NC's 10M and Va's 8.3M markets, which have grown by 1M per decade the last three decades each, for academia, wealth, hoops pedigree, recruiting(and/or lower eastern seaboard proxy)..
Not Scarbinsky, Tramel, and other deluded SEC fanboys hope of OU and it's 3.9M windswept barren Indian nation(up a mere 900K in last 36 yrs) with but two villages of note(OKC & Tulsa) mooching a football roster outta Dallas.
Three of the SEC expansion era teams were to the West..time to go East and slightly north..not lower middle America!

Crazy to think TCU used to be in the Mountain West a few years ago.
Posted on 6/20/16 at 1:49 am to Gary Busey
Yet that's exacty how most of us (Texans) think of them.
To me, it's crazy that they aren't still MWC, CUSA, or WAC.
That was the point of my long-winded post above: People's perspective about the entire university is screwy, based on a handful of recent TCU football wins, and a smattering of baseball post-season berths.
It's nuts.

They're better than most of the SEC, can certainly spank SEC teams, but no. Why would anybody be interested in them?

And the only reason they weren't part of the Big 8/SWC merger is because Baylor hijacked the conference by having the governor of Texas force them in.
Thankfully that has corrected itself in due time, but it really could have wrecked that program for all-time. All they did after that was put their heads down and put out T10 teams with midmajor talent.

I am not gay, but using that term as an insult right now is pretty low.
Not that I wouldn't expect that from a low life that chants suck tiger dick.

There is only one sport that matters and drives the realignment train.
