Without our system wealth we lack the collateral to get the credit line needed to buy a stadium like we just did. Plus we also directly dipped into academic funds for the AD this decade via a loan.

Texas people are bigger and better. Win or lose, they are better because they live in the great state of Texas.

Sort of. What it means is, their athletics program was financially broke and needed a life raft...
That life raft? Alabama, LSU, et al.
Don't y'all love it?

I'll try to explain it to you, but you probably won't be able to understand it.
I know that it seems like we are arrogant, but we're not. Truly, we're not. We're just better than everyone else, and we're honest, and so it comes across as arrogant. I'm very sorry that we've made you feel inferior - that was not our intent. God bless.
(In all honesty, I hope you guys know that most all of this kind of talk is tongue-in-cheek. It's fun. We love our place, and we think other people should love their places, too.)

Sure we could, but we would have to fund so-so projects within our means. Like LSU's lego, or GA's practice field.
Without the oil money given our program success (aka comparing to other renovations at equivalent programs) we could have maybe had like a $250 million upgrade. That would have barely been impressive. Instead we got to bankroll a half billion upgrade like we are freaking Bama or something.
I mean, didn't you EVER watch Field of Dreams? If you build it, the championships will come.

We had to do something with all that cash. We can always just build another one in a year or two if we are not satisfied.

Let's all name attributes of the seemingly well-to-do Texan:

Not quite.
What the deal was is we traded Texas eyeballs and Texas viewers for the SEC's reputation and immediate financial advantages.
When you consider who owned those eyeballs in the state before the SEC came around, a better analogy is we just sold our big brother's truck to pay our frat dues.
Sorry big bro.

LOL. Another aggie who thinks they paid cash for their stadium.
It's called bonds... as in debt. Look into it.
By the way, Texas eclipsed A&M's "$740 million in donations" bullshite by $100 million this past fiscal year.

The University of Texas at Austin has completed its Campaign for Texas fundraising drive with $856 million donated in 2013-2014, bringing the total amount of money raised in the campaign to $3.1 billion.
