It's not as desirable as you may think it is, especially considering how the higher up's at LSU basically hung Miles out to dry last year before the A&M game. If LSU were to fire Miles tomorrow, no coach worth two cents of a goddamn would even consider LSU a good place to be.

No, TN wishes they could have that decade back after firing Fulmer. I doubt LSU would suffer much like that at all. I could be wrong but highly doubtful.
Not really true. It was Fulmer's time to go. Our AD epically mishandled the situation. The only decade I wish we could have back is Fulmer's last decade. It was terrible watching him slowly be passed by his peers.
I think LSU would miss Miles more than you guys think you would.

Yeah a top 5 coaching job in the country who would want that? Great coaches accept and welcome the pressure of winning. Saban has said many times the pressure to win at Alabama is huge and he understands it. So does Miles as he has said last year when his job was hanging in the balance.

Nebraska firing Pelini was one of the worsts. Dude won 9+ games every year. It's not the 90's anymore. No good college athlete wants to go play in the middle of a flyover state

Somebody may mention Fulmer at Tennessee but I'm about the only non-UT fan who believes that firing was justified. He was awful his last 4 years (2005-08) with a record of 29-21 and 2 losing seasons. The 4 loss seasons in 06 and 07 were only attained because David Cutcliffe briefly rejoined the staff. Then Cutcliffe left again and the Vols had another losing season in 2008.
You pretty much nailed the situation and congrats for it bc very few on the outside understand the situation.
Oh and frick Florida

Dude you don't speak for us so why don't you just kindly eat a bag of rotten dicks
Firing Fulmer, love him as I do, was the last good decision our AD made for a long time. Perhaps until Jones was hired, time will tell

Plus Jimbo's in the ACC and who knows how he'd do in the SEC West Division.
Jimbo Fisher served as LSU’s offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach for seven years (2001-06) before taking the same position at Florida State University in January of 2007.
While at LSU, Fisher helped lead the Tigers to seven bowl games, including a national championship and 2 SEC championships and 3 SEC West Titles, and a 70-20 overall mark.
I guess we'll never know...

LSU is a desirable job. Some places do get lucky. But the odds would be against it,
Has a school ever had 3 great coaches in a row?
Some will disagree with me, but LSU I believe, has also had 3 good coaches in a row. I fear the day the Negatigers, get their wish.

Yea remember when Georgia fired a coach who had won 2 SEC Championships and had just gone 9-3 and they were only able to hire the most sought after coordinator in the nation?

I am pretty sure Miami firing Larry Coker would be viewed in a worse light. Miami was a top 10 program in 2005.
If Les gets fired he would have done it with his best roster in 5 years.

I can't think of LSU without thinking about Les Miles. He is the face and personality of the school.

8 months ago that fanbase worked itself into a lynch mob frenzy, spelled out a litany of his deficiencies and nearly got him fired. They would've filled this thread with their legitimate criticisms. The firing didn't happen, nothing really changes in the offseason and now look at the prediction thread, the majority predict him to go 11-1 or 12-0 and contend
What an insane group of people. Like they remember nothing and intentionally set themselves up. I'm just gonna sit back and watch

kind of reminds you of Bama fans - right

Just look at today's big threads. All the Bama cockroaches came out of the woodwork to defend their demigod for treating a 20 year old kid like trash (no pun intended)
Oh look. Errerrerrwere posts about Bama in a Les thread.
Shocking.

Well, I've been a long time defender of miles. and as years passed it seemed like excuses were piling up. Although I wasn't running down skip bertman dr last year with a pitchfork in hand, THE WAY we lost 3 games in a row had me feeling like change might be good. We didn't compete in our biggest games. All those feelings were in the heat of battle.
Fast forward and he made an incredible hire on defense, so we hope. Had yet another killer recruiting class. Had most of his key contributing jr's return for the first time in a long time. And had a returning qb who most fans feel can develop into a game manager, which should be all we need.
All reasons to be optimistic which I'm hope you can understand.
But I'm sure you'll take the handful of clowns who talk shite and troll and place that against "every" lsu fan. Touché

LSU's treatment of Miles has been cringe worthy. I'm really surprised he hasn't bolted.
Posted on 8/4/16 at 6:48 am to UFFan
This is the kind of shite that pisses me off. One minute all the fans of other teams scream about how firing Miles would be a stupid move. The next minute they are screaming about how he runs an antiquated offense and how LSU is on a decline... You frickers can't have it both ways. Either he is one of the top coaches in CFB or he is not that good and is holding LSU back because it damn sure ain't a talent issue with recruits.
Posted on 8/4/16 at 6:50 am to UFFan
I think Miles is a really really good coach and firing would probably be a mistake. But if you lose to Bama for a 6th straight time, I get it. May not make sense to someone not close to LSU or the SEC, but you can't lose to your division rival 6 straight years and expect to keep your job.
