Y'all bringing up a position coach every time your DC hire is mentioned makes me smile.

Can't wait to see all the excuses when Kevin Freakin Steele fields a Better D than Chavis! 
the worst thing Sumlin ever did was hire Chavis. LSU D Line and LB recruiting was going down the crapper.
Now .......well Miles one upped Stumblin and decided to take what he wants in Texas with O and Steele
The talent upgrade at LSU is already MILES ahead of where it was the last few years with Brick and TN 3* Cheif

All defensive coaches have input on game planning and playcalling. Steele has the final call though.

LSU fans will say they don't miss Chavis like rich people will say they really don't miss the money when they go broke. It's a nice coping mechanism.
