If they could get Petrino and keep Chavis...hell yeah they would. You lie if you say otherwise

...clearly not grasping that the primary functions of a CFB HC is 1)hiring staff, 2) final recruiting decisions and 3)keeping everyone on the same page

To the original question: No.

I really wanted to like Petrino. I had a nice discussion with a pretty cool Razorback fan who truly believed that Petrino was a good man. Obviously, the last few days have shown otherwise. No, I would keep coach Miles any day of the week. I admit Petrino is a very good coach but controversy follows him everywhere he goes. Keep Petrino if you can.

There's actually some pretty good Hog fans on ESPN, I just got to learn how to drown out the surrounding hornet's nest. They are very passionate about their program and I feel bad for them. But the program is up enough to where they should be able to find a good HC, though the timing will make it difficult.

Very educational thread. Never knew there were so many different ways to say "hell no."

CLM is doing well enough. The 'grass is greener' guys in the fanbase...they haven't made enough trips to the wrong side to see that yet.

Indeed

Miles is sooo lucky he has Chavis. No way we would have put up 41 on arkansas this year without him.

This is a fact because the club would have never made it to ATL or a BCS game to begin with.

I would. I think he has learned his lesson by now and will be a better man for it.

He made a concerted effort to improve time management this year. Perhaps this will be last time going into a game without a plan B.

as coaches, its not even close. If petrino could recruit it would be a no brainer.

Another that doesn't know what the function of a CFB HC is.

You guys should be glad for Petrino. If not for his little wreck and mini-drama the sports world and SECr would be blasting LSU for Claiborne's Wonderlic score, and what kind of university LSU is for him being able to get in much less pass classes.

Hello Arky fans, not sorry for your loss but whatever

You guys seem to forget that BP had his chance to lead LSU after the 04 season

He blew it with his attitude. Therefore, no thanks...if someone can't get along with Skip Bertman than I don't know if they could get along with anyone

so no, just no

and these kinds of threads are the reason a majority of you are looked upon as complete morons by many on this site

Believe me, we are loving all the drama that Petrino created up there. Very entertaining for pretty much the entire college football fan base.

As to Claiborne, who cares. Every school recruits and signs academically challenged athletes. Even the almighty University of Texas ( see Vince Young). Do you actually ever listen to your own players in interviews? 80% of college football is full of extremely academically challenged players.

Plus, we got the Saints Bounty scandal to keep us semi occupied down here, so we aren't to worried about a player that scored 4 on a test and who will still be a top 5 pick in the draft.
