I've seen this sentiment many times over the years from Georgia fans and also some of the media. Frankly, I've never understood it. After Vandy, your only trip out of state in the regular season was to TWLOCP. You beat Troy by 10 and Kentucky by 11. You pulled away from a GaTech team that went 4-4 in the ACC to win by 14 (before they got waxed by Fresno in some non-descript bowl) and then rolled Hawaii in the Sugar. I don't see that as an overwhelming display of power.
You possibly could have beaten LSU playing without Flynn, but I don't think that's anything approaching the article of faith that I so often see.
