The most memorable beatdown in terms of national significance has to be UF and LSU's 06 double face rape of the old guard in OSU and Notre Dame.

As for the worst flat out beatdown, (note, I did not see the Bama Mich State game last year, although I could tell it was pretty bad from the ESPN updates while watching our game) I gotta go with UF's 51-24 win over Cincy. Some highlights from the post-game:

[Tebow] completed his first 12 passes, led the Gators to scores on their first five possessions and finished with 533 total yards – more than anyone in Bowl Championship Series history. He topped former Texas star Vince Young's record of 467 yards set against Southern California in the 2005 Rose Bowl.

"They couldn't stop Superman," Gators guard Carl Johnson. "They needed some kryptonite."

The Gators pushed the lead to 30-3 early in the third quarter and cruised the rest of the way.

Florida finished with a Sugar Bowl-record 659 yards

Again, due to the caliber of their opponent, UF's 2006 beatdown of Ohio State >>>>>>>> UF's 2009 beatdown of Cincinnati. I don't even think Ohio State got 100 yards in the game against Florida. That beatdown might have been even more impressive than what USC did against Oklahoma.

Again, if you're arguing most significant blowout in terms of impact on the national CFB landscape, yes, I'd agree. But the worst physical beatdown has got to be that Cincy game, it was just ridiculous.

The way I see it, if you match the Pittsburgh Steelers against Appalachian State, you're going to witness a much worse beatdown than if they played the Vikings. It's semantics.

I was gonna say Florida- tOSU, but I have to say Bama and Michigan St. They were held to -48 yards rushing. On average, Michigan St. lost 2 yards every time they ran the ball. How is that even possible?

The worst I've ever seen was the 2011 Capital One Bowl win over Michigan State.

Though my grand-dad used to talk about Alabama beating Syracuse in the 1953 Orange Bowl all the time. Alabama won 61-6.

Alabama knocked out two QBs, a RB, and a WR. They managed to punt on 4th and goal too.

Everyone has their own opinion. But Bama over MSU and tOSU vs UF was just disturbing how much the difference was between the two teams. At the time, they were calling Ohio State maybe one of the best ever. Bama also played a pretty good MSU team.

Honorable mention: LSU vs ND

The 2007 Sugar Bowl between LSU and Notre Dame was an epic beatdown, but so have all of Notre Dame's BCS bowl appearances.

2000 Cotton Bowl

Arkansas and Texas meet for the first time since the Hogs left the SWC for the SEC.

Texas was held to a Cotton Bowl record -27 rushing yards. The Hogs also sacked UT QBs 7 times. UT went through 2 QBs. Arkansas 27 Texas 6

Florida vs tOSU in 2006. tOSU was #1 in the country and UF held them to EIGHTY TWO (82) yards of total offense.

34-14 at halftime. 41-14 final. That is the definition of a BEATDOWN.

My vote goes to one of the two that have been mentioned most it seems:

LSU pounding Miami into irrelevancy
Or last year's destruction of Michigan State by Bama...that game was just brutal

There's been plenty though...UF/tOSU, MooSt/UM, UGA/Hawaii, and LSU/ND all come to mind

'08 Outback Bowl with Tennessee and Wisconsin. Tennessee only won 21-17, but in terms of a physical beatdown, Wisconsin was severely outmatched by a Chavis defense.

Jerod Mayo had Wisconsin's QB spitting up blood, and getting his dick popped back into socket throughout the game.
