Dunno about the NFL but history will probably have him go down as the best college coach of all time. It is what it is.

At this point he would win wherever he was. If a lesser school got him out of Michigan State not so much.

One of the ingredients to Sabans great success is his control of the program and everyone buying into his process.

Now, the next biggest reason is getting top talent, and his and his coaches ability to develop the talent.

I've got no issues with either of these two statements, proof is in the pudding.

LSU was good before Saban, just not immediately before.

He would do exactly what he is doing at Bama. I would love to see him take on a UK or Indiana and put his skills to the test.

mmmmmm, he's been really good everywhere but dominant at only one place. Bama and Saban are a perfect Storm. Bama benefits greatly from Saban but Saban benefits from being at Bama too.
He would win but he would not win like this at Kentucky or State.

yes he would ... it would take longer, possibly 15 years, but he'd get it done anywhere ... just like bear would've been a national champion winner at uk or tamu or anywhere else he coached, so would saban ...

The players he could recruit at a school like Arizona/Arizona St.
Saban would have all the babes on payroll and wouldn't take no for an answer.

He would be good, but not great, the resources put at his disposal at bama are mindboggling.

A little over 10 years. And Dinardo was at the least a small part of the turnaround. He recruited and got players back to LSU. Got the fan base excited again. He hired a shitty coordinator that partly led to his demise.

Saban took over a pretty talented roster. He's tGOAT so he made them exceptional in under 2 years.

He would have won a title at Michigan State if he had stayed there. Would have won more at LSU if he had stayed there.

Being at Bama is like Cal coming to UK. The difference is Cal has missed on more titles.

If given 9 years, I feel fairly confident he could win a national championship at any mid tier and up school in the power 5 and at least 50% of those ranked less. Of 128 FBS schools, I'd say about ~96.

One key to his success at bama was when he came in and Mal gave him TOTAL control of the program.

NS told the boosters and whatnot to stay the frick outta his program. If he were to have success at another school, those circumstances would have to hold true.

Most decent coaches would be more successful if they could keep the AD administration and such at a distance. Most of these guys are pretty smart and have plans that would probably work, but they also answer to alot of different people. Saban answers to noone pretty much

Cal was hired by administration other than our AD and he doesn't report to the school's AD. I think that makes sense.
