Women's basketball should have lower rims and a smaller court.

It makes zero sense for women to play on the same court with the same rim heights as men. This leads to the boring product on the floor regardless of a team's talent level because there is no dunking or alley oops. I've never seen a Sportscenter top 10 highlight from a women's basketball game in my life.
Softball has it right, they have a much smaller field and a bigger ball. That way girls can actually hit home runs, which would be impossible for them on a baseball field. Women's basketball has a slightly smaller ball, but they should go a step further and shorten the rims, and possibly make the court a tad smaller. What have they got to lose?

instead why dont we make the mens court bigger and rims higher. it's getting a little silly at least at the NBA level, players much bigger/faster/stronger than they were in the 40's or whenever the current dimensions were instituted.

No. They should play with the same dimensions or not play at all.

At least make the rims about a foot higher to make it challenging.

These are ways to improve the entertainment value of women's basketball. Feel free to post your ideas too.

It will never gain much traction.
There's too much taboo about women playing sports.
The teams that are good at it will have fans that care more than others, but at the end of the day is anyone really upset if their women's sports team loses?

Have a couple of ideas on how to make it more watchable....

Lowering the rim might not be a bad idea...but keeping the court larger actually provides more room to spread out a defense and open up for more scoring. Also, not changing the court size allows for an easier transition from the men's to women's games without cluttering up the aesthetics of the court.

The problem will take care of itself once dudes who "identify" as women take over women's basketball.

Is that a Tranny, you being a TAMU fan and all?
Just curious tho, do you view your daughter in hooker attire for sport?
If I have a daughter who get a free ride to college for playing sports I am all for it.

Everything should be 78% of the men’s game.

Or multiply the current game by 1.2 for the men.
Humans are getting bigger over time. Romans were the warriors of their age and they were mostly 4' 8" to 5' 8"
When I was a kid, the dimensions for MBB fit because nobody could dunk back then and teams actually played team ball and defense. Now it is all about the individual and dunking. Multiply by 1.2 and probably have to go back to the fundamentals of the sport.

I was thinking you could just play women's basketball wherever they do volleyball and gymnastics. We have a smaller arena where those teams play, which would be perfect for women's basketball. Our women's team plays in a 19,000 seat arena right now, and there are usually a few dozen people there.

Definitely lower the goal, with dunking it might become more popular even to the girls growing up playing. The three point shot is fine in my opinion.

Women being able to dunk the ball would make the sport much more watchable, which is why, instead of lowering the rim, the free throw lanes on both ends of the court should be springboarded. Problem solved.

I've been saying it for awhile. Shorter rims for women would be awesome. One of the fun things about basketball is seeing guys play above the rim. It would definitely make the women's game more exciting.
I watched a video the other day with the world's shortest dunkers. Guys 5'2-5'6 throwing down on a 10 foot goals.
If women can't dunk consistently on 10' yet it's not gonna ever happen.
