The story has some not so good stuff in it. Stuff that I would whoop his arse over if it were my daughter, but stuff that 15 years ago was borderline acceptable and to some backwards arse southerners still borderline acceptable.
Just sounds like a high and mighty big ego type coach who probably doesn't think much about the perspective of others. Nothing to go to jail over or get fired over, but something he should have been disciplined over.

I personally think Freeze should be in jail. Just think when his wife has to be tested for STDs.
Freeze's problems have been covered for him his whole life now it's time to pay the piper.

Coach Henderson used to paddle the girls at Sherwood. Wasn't getting his rocks off of it. It's just how things were done back then. The male coaches or male principles handled the spankings.

Any man besides their father was getting their rocks off. Just cuz it was done back then doesn't make it right. Gays and blacks were thought of as not human at one time too. Guess that was right? A good spanking is perfectly fine but there's reasons why administrators don't do it anymore. Many of them are sick bastards like Freeze. Actually, in this case, it was a lesser punishment because she asked for it over detention. (And pretty much most kids felt the same about it). Yeah, a paddling hurt, but it was over in about a minute. Then you went on about your day like nothing happened.
Now take something away that a kid loves (like video games, phone, internet) for a period of time, they remember that shite.
I'm not saying there isn't an instance where it's not effective, it's just not the most effective means in most cases especially with teenagers.
