So far, the evidence that has been presented (and quite a lot was presented during the self-defense hearing) has made it look like the wrong people were arrested here. I don't know how they're possibly going to prove their case against Miles. Davis has a harder hill to climb because he was shooting, but it seems clear that the girl's boyfriend and his fellow gang members intended for something to happen. They probably weren't expecting the basketball players to have a gun.

It's a funny anecdote, but this guy did not want to testify and the defense had to have the judge issue a bench warrant to force him to testify.
This guy dying actually hurts the defense. Miles and Davis NEED these key witnesses to be compelled to testify in front of a jury (which shouldn't even be happening, I think Miles proved his self-defense claim), and unfortunately 2 of them are now dead.

Meh, this case is a big nothingburger.
It's one of those cases where people twist a few facts around to make it fit their narrative, much like the "Kelly killed a kid" thing.
We should probably focus on the many actual, documented cases of violence from Alabama fans in the midst of tantrums following losses.

Greene testified under oath at the immunity hearing, so that evidence is admissible hearsay now that he's unavailable. They do lose the opportunity to impeach him in front of the jury though.

Yeah that's the part that hurts. Dude was a hostile witness, and being able to call these guys who act like thugs on the stand was going to play well for Miles in front of the jury. Honestly, Greene, the boyfriend, and that whole crew should all be on trial. I think they should be the only ones on trial, but they are at least as culpable, if not more, in the girlfriend's death as Miles and Davis were.
