Lincoln couldn't "declare war" because that would be the North showing legitimacy to the South's succession. Instead, he called it a "rebellion" and sent in the troops

He intentionally incited the "rebellion" by the threat of military action against the states. He knew he was creating an environment that would lead to war and he willfully proceeded.

His face should be stricken from the currency and his monument ground to dust to be used in the construction of toilets for Krystals and Waffle Houses across the south.

Sherman was a badass

Sherman was a despicable anti-Semite racist terrorist and quite possibly legitimately insane.

It's no coincidence that when he was done making war on Southern civilians, women, and children to cripple the South........that he was next tasked with the job of heading west to exterminate the Plains Indians.

May he rot in hell.....

Ft. Sumter was entirely manipulated to give the Feds an "excuse" to gain support for an invasion of the Southern states.

Which I might add..... IS THE VERY frickING DEFINITION OF "TREASON" ACCORDING TO THE U.S. CONSTITUTION.

Uhhmmmmm no. Firing upon a Union outpost is a declaration of war by the Confederacy. The south quit cause it couldn't get it's way in congress etc... So we threw a fit, attacked a union outpost and then the Union said frick you, outlasted the south, and burned a shite ton of it to the ground. Don't proclaim war if you aren't ready to do what it takes to win it.

You can't do that on this thread. It's being dominated by tin foil hat conspiracy retards who think their 1% views are the truth.

I don't argue any of this, but you have to give the dude credit. His tactics were ruthless, but damn if they didn't work.

The Soviets used similar tactics as they retreated from the Nazi assault during WWII and in the end it left the Nazi forces devastated.

I don't see any tin foil hats, black helis, or conspiracy theories being thrown about. Just some facts.

I didn't ever read about a northern senator beating a southern senator to the point of brain damage in session and then running like a scared bitch back home to mamma.

Wrong. The South seceded peacefully. They withdrew their consent from a VOLUNTARY union which they helped to voluntarily create in the first place.

Q: What do you think we celebrate on the 4th of July jackass?

A: Secession!

You are a fool and a robot and are embarassing yourself.

Of course not. The southerner kicked his arse.

Slavery played a part. That does not stop me from thinking it was an illegal war, despising Lincoln, being happy the bastard got his brains blown out when he did, or wishing we never went North to Gettysburg.

I was using the same rhetoric and self proclaimed holiness that the person I was replying to used. Turnabout is fair play. It would be truly tasteless if the burning happened within our lifetime, not 5 lifetimes ago.

But, what if some of us are actually natives and actually have roots..... and know the names of our Great great great grandfathers and grandmothers unlike you?

You are embarassing to me.
