no timeline has been announced. Just simply that Dr. Baker was given the go-ahead to begin the search.

I'll be honest.... Gonna be hard pressed to replace Mike VI from the standpoint of how sociable he was and his genuine interest in children and adults alike. Never the less frick SPCA/PETA and all of the other groups out there trying to jinx us from having Mike VII !!!!!!! LSU does A better job of caring for a tiger than anywhere in the world. We will have Mike VII!!!

They actually do pretty good work. It's the other so-called animal rights groups that are batshit crazy. Take PETA... While they claim to be pro-animal they euthanize all strays they capture (don't even try to find them homes). PETA even got caught euthanizing someone's pet they assumed was a stray in one of their round ups.

At any rate, I think LSU has the facilities and track record to get a new tiger without issue.

Sankey makes this decision. It's officially out of our hands.

PETA throws a fit, despite the fact that LSU only seeks out rescue tigers

Then gives them a better life than most humans.

it's PETA and yes they will. also, just like the last time LSU will tell them to kiss off. Mike was a rescued tiger that enjoyed a significantly better quality of life at LSU than he did previously. he was born in captivity and would not have survived going wild. of course the closed minded folks at PETA simply refuse to admit that. they just want to bitch so money will keep flowing in to them. crazy world huh?

PETA does a lot of good work, it's just a shame they have to go after these publicity stunt situations to get their name out there and rile up their donor base for more money.

proverbial nail hit on the head. they don't really object to us rescuing a tiger and improving it's quality of life.

there are many, many more hypocritical scenes in our country that PETA. for example, do you really think the American cancer society wants to cure cancer?

They are pretty efficient at euthanizing all of those animals in their shelters. Over 97% of their animal population was killed a few years back.

Exactly. PETA is a fraud, imo. It's like the infamous quote from Vietnam, "It became necessary to destroy the town to save it." PETA destroys the animals in order to save them.

I was with you until a couple weeks ago when I found out how cheap I could get these pets of mine squared away for next to nothing. Wife and kids brought home a stray kitten that the vet wanted $450 to spay. SPCA is doing it for $60. Got my German Shepard's rabies vaccination on Saturday for $12.

Cry away SPCA for all I care...love yall prices.
