yall were terrible for those years cause of a terrible coach and sanctions. yall were still getting good players even though yall were shite.

Bama does NOT recruit itself

so if Bama doesn't recruit itself, what players did Saban win the 09 NC with? perhaps, the ones that came in under Shula???

everything that Spurrier said about Saban that made the rounds on these boards was true.

I do have to say that this quote by Spurrier when he was on Dan Patrick made me laugh my arse off.

"In the NFL, the worst team gets the first draft pick and then it goes on down the line. The best team gets the last pick in each round. In college, the best teams get the first pick. I mean like Alabama, they get the first five and the rest of you take a while and then we'll take the next. They get the first five in every round."

I have to give A&M credit...they came in to TTown and won.

Saban has that September date circled and this time I would be willing to bet the Aggies don't
jump ahead by 3 TD's to start.

He continues to be dominant for at LEAST 7ish more years, but even after that if he continues to coach he'll still be good.

He's what, 61. Doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who wants to coach till he dies, just do it till he's ready to stop, then stop. With that said, I would expect him to coach maybe to 65, and then go play with his grand kids.
If he stays at Bama for 3-4 more years, I would expect at least one or two more titles during that time, if he can find a serviceable QB to replace McCarron.

There is no reason to expect Bama NOT to win it every year with Saban here.

The thing with Saban is "THE GUY HAS TO HAVE A CHALLENGE". Bama ia on cruise control right now. Every high school AA in the country wants to play for them. Pretty soon this is going to be "TOO EASY" for Saban despite how hard he works..Beat LSU and and Johnny Football ( Yes, Johnny you have a beat down coming next year) and go and beat whoever shows up from the EAST..I could see him going to someplace like Texas if the money was right..He'd could go to another school and resurrect it...And win more National titles there.. He will coach another 5 years, I do believe it..

Our 2008 recruiting class had a lot to do with it also.

It's going to make me laugh for about 5 minutes next year when aTm comes crashing back down to reality and their fans realize they are just another Arkansas. Then I'll forget about them.

IMO the dude will never slack off unless he retires. He's that good and has great players coming in every yr. Not gonna happen. We just have to hope he makes some terrible in-game decisions like Miles to lose the game

It's only a matter of time before things catch up with him a bit. I don't expect him to have any particularly bad seasons, unless some infractions get uncoverered and someone actually hold him accountable, but it's impossible to maintain this level of success forever.

of course you would agree, but no Bama is not in the middle of their reign. it's over.

yall have had an impressive run, albeit with some lucky circumstances, but impressive nonetheless

I would love to hear your reasoning on our reign being over.

Slack off is the wrong word but you shouldn't be expecting another 3 NCs over the next 4 years.

Saban keeps saying that his biggest challenge is to get all the young kids to buy in and do things the right way. As long as he's only dealing with 18-22 year olds, he'll be happy. I'm not saying he'll coach for 10-15 more years but he'll be around for a bit and will still contend. Face it, Bama isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

The day he wins his 7th is the day he goes to the lake. OBC can piss and moan all he wants, but he knows he's playing for second place. His piss will not get hot enough to beat Saban again.
