Will OM v FSU be the closest game on opening weekend?

#11 v #4

FSU returns a lot of talent but so does OM. Chad Kelly is really good and probably a top 5ish QB in the country. Freeze has recruited a step below Jimbo but it's not different worlds. I'm really looking forward to this. Should be a battle and really set the tone for the season. Can either afford an early loss and still make the playoffs?

I would go with LSU vs Wisconsin for closest. I could see that turning into a defensive type game that comes down to the 4th quarter.

It really is a fascinating game. There will be no shortage of great one-on-one matchups to watch. They've got a solid secondary that will be tested right away by a deeeeeeep WR corps and a great QB.

This game, like all games, will be decided in the trenches. Both teams will be trying to disrupt the other early and often. FSU having the inexperience at QB, could prove to be their downfall. However, if the LT position of OM's line can't hold serve then OM could have a long night.

Can't wait.

Probably, but sometimes LSU is afraid of scoring touchdowns.

If the CFP is going to expect a high SOS ( and they do), they are going to have to cut some slack on a close early OOC loss. I believe that is why we are seeing the quality of opening weekend games increase. The thinking is that a win will, of course, help you. A loss won't kill you.

Is the closest game a 1 point game or OT game?

Ole Miss wins a close one, because of MGK.

FSU could, but I don't think OM could. OM would have to sweep Bama, LSU, and Georiga which probably hasn't been done before. Not by Ole Miss at least.

Switch UGA for Arky and I agree with you. But I also think the only loss OM can afford and still make the playoffs would be FSU. I just don't know if they can turn around and run the SEC. If FSU loses they better beat Clemson otherwise they will get a nice bowl but no playoffs. Unless Clemson just implodes this year.
