That's precisely my point. Y'all's defense is going to take a huge step backwards next season. Your offense hasn't shown in 2 years with McElwain that it can be elite. So what do you get when your bad offense can't be supported by an elite defense? (that's rhetorical, the obvious answer is regression.)
