Considering McElwain pretty much is the biggest reason Grier chose to transfer, unfortunately it is on UF.

Is Mc a supreme douche? I get that he tries to run his program like Saban, but Saban's not running off players, especially the better ones.

If a dude ruined my season by taking a PED I might put him in the doghouse too. He never kicked Grier off the team.

That's on him, not Florida

McElwain said to kick rocks, pretty much was his decision. Grier wanted to stay.

Probably will cost McElwain his job. Only chance he had at having a capable QB

I heard he left because Mac wouldn't guarantee playing time. I'm not sure why Mac would do that but it is difficult to promise someone playing time, which in all cases is a lie. Mac should have said, "you're my guy, you've been starting all year, of course, your the man". That's not lying.

Grier was the one QB since Tebow that moved the offense. The kid can ball out and it sucked watching him sling it for WVU last night instead of OnB. I think he'll be a Heisman candidate this year as well. Laptops and roids have ruined this program.

Not so fast, my friend...

But in mid-October, the NCAA suspended him for 12 months for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug. Grier said at the time that he took an over-the-counter supplement which contained a substance banned by the NCAA.

Unsure if Florida would ever give him his starting job back, Grier transferred to WVU last summer.

Don't shift the blame from Mac on this kid. Mac's ego is the reason this kid left.

That and his clear inability to spot a talented QB. Seriously. This moron had him competing with Harris. THEN had the nerve to claim he had to do the same thing with Del Rio the following year.

Now. Franks clearly better than the others, he makes him compete with two others who are clearly inferior.

It's like Mac is retarded.

Obviously Holgerson promised Grier...

One more reason Mac has to go. He thought he could whisper another guy instead of the one he already had...

The kid took drugs to gain a competitive advantage. Otherwise he'd be starting.
What are you on about?

Yes he did.. Something like "I promise to let you sling the ball all over the damn yard, we will make it rain tds as i surround you with an innovative playcaller and all the WR's you have ever hoped for... Oh yeah, we'll run the ball as well as soon as the defense backs off and opens up running lanes, not running into a wall like that arse hat you used to play for."

First QB in years to take you to a 6-0 record... you LIE and say sure son, we'll be here waiting when you return. Then let him compete with Franks to see who starts.

Yes. The guy who proved himself and then was told he would have to go through another bs competition with an Oregon State transfer.

Mac pushed him out. Because Mac is arrogant. He actually thought this kid and Del Rio were equals.

Let that sink in.

It looks like there's two sides to this. Grier screwed up, else he'd prolly be the starting QB at UF right now.

McElwain seemingly took too much of a hard line with the young man.

Sometimes, things work out for the best for all concerned. Grier seems to have found a better fit in WV's offense than he had with UF's. And Franks may turn out to be the real deal, despite the rough start.
