not bad for a guy who hasn't played in a year and one half. took him a while to shake the rust loose. bet florida would give a right nut to have him back on the team right now.

Considering McElwain pretty much is the biggest reason Grier chose to transfer, unfortunately it is on UF.

Will says Mac pretty much pushed him away and alienated him from the team. Some say Will had cocaine issues that led to mac doing so but I cant confirm that

Many stories out there, all i know is i had to watch our QB play his arse off last night for another team. Not bad at all for being out of football over 600 days and in a new system ect.

The beaver probably thought he was such a QB guru he could make any qb succeed after that absolute pile of shite Garrett Grayson succeeded at Colorado State.

Am I mistaken in thinking Grier tested positive for performance enhancing drugs and that the reason he was let go?

He did pop for an ingredient on a supplement he took that was on the ban list. But the rumor is that afterwards he got hooked on cocaine. Like i said i cant confirm it.

But to hear Will's side of the story, its like Mac didnt want him anywhere near the team after he was suspended.

Really? Instead of sticking with the team and prepping Treon, Grier took off the day after the press conference to North Carolina and never rejoined the team. You can blame Mac for a lot, but can you really blame him for forcing Grier's hand after he abandoned the team?

Yeah, "Grieroids" was the phrase being thrown around by rival fans at the time. The NCAA (not Florida) suspended him for an entire calendar year. Grier's family wanted assurances that he'd be the starter when he came back from suspension. Mac said no. Florida and Grier parted ways.

Thanks, I thought it was something along those lines. It's always a "He said, she said" deal when a star player leaves.

This looks more like Grier's screwup, not UF's IMO.

I mean we've already been through this with Cam Newton, so this barely phases me at all anymore.

What I can confirm is that he had a Ligandrol problem. Maybe that was it.
