What control has he lost? The arrest are the lowest that they have been in eons. That's an indication of losing control?

Recruiting has been fine all things considered.

Not very often by UF fans. We do have some that would take him but not many.

I am not "obessed." Its just the most interesting drama in the SEC right now. Its the perfect mix of rock (UF cheap with coaching hires) and a hard place (shitty off season to be hiring a new coach). Deal with it, because everyone is going to wallow in that muck when the coaching changes board opens.

And its a fact UF goes cheap on modern era coaching hires. Boom took y'all to a BCS bowl and he makes less than Bert.

He was still a pretty risky hire. You figure a program like Florida wouldn't hire first time head coaches.

Yet, Texas was wanting him, right? I mean...wasn't he the Head Coach in waiting?

In title maybe, but there wasn't any sort of solid plan of when Boom would actually be the Texas head coach. I think it was all a way to pay him what was a crazy salary for a coordinator at the time.

I just think that any job that is a top 5 job should only get someone who proved themselves at a lower level, like who Texas actually hired as the next head coach.

Well maybe player development? Lack of recruiting at important positions (Driskel being the quarterback for 3-4 years)?

What do the Gator fans think?

Personally, I like Muschamp and still think he can get things done over there.

I was thinking you guys had been recruiting ok. Maybe a few misses, but still getting highly rated players.

Right...but it was pretty well thought he would take over when Mack Brown left.....makes you wonder how things would be at Florida and Texas had Muschamp waited at Texas.

Muschamps seems like a really smart, good football coach. But he isn't recruiting that well and he doesn't have control of his program. Those last two things are all that really matters nowadays.
I think this is some kind of sarcasm behind a veil of insult obscured by a satire about Miles. Otherwise his assessment of Florida recruiting is ignorant.

I'd say Foley is smart then and the Arky AD has overpaid based on results to this point.

It's not interesting at all really. We are 4-1 with hope at the East still. We are only good QB play away from really getting after it.

ETA: Oh and when you post in every UF thread about coaching, that's obsessed.

We've recruited well at the QB position.

JD 5*
Jacoby Brissett 5* I think
Grier 4* close to 5 I think
Treon 4 or 5*

JD just isn't getting it done. He's had to learn 3 different offenses in 4 years with as many OC. That's pretty tough on an NFL QB much less a college kid.

Same thing kinda happening at LSU right now, except it's not as big of a deal because they are both still young. But still, two 4* guys who don't look good at all so far. Especially Jennings.

Minus the 3 different offenses and OCs, yeah.

I can't imagine how tough that must be as a QB. It usually takes a year to get the offense down pat when installing a new one.

We've done that to Jeff 3 times. Very few ever consider that. When you are comfortable you play much better. It's like he's still figuring it all out all over again. It's maddening because he has all the tools.

if the current AD isnt canned its Mullen's job. rumors swirling about the AD being gone too though so it could be anyone's guess at this point. the next coach will most certainly be an offensive oriented coach.

Where-outside of idiots on this board- have you heard that the best AD in the country is on the hot seat?

In my opinion Dan Mullen would be a terrible hire. I hated his offenses when he had Tebow and Harvin (horrifically predictable) and until this year he has looked mediocre at best (and I'm sorry but the jury is still out on this year).

Foley is going absolutely nowhere. Anyone who talks about him being on the hot seat has no basis in reality. The guy has been the best AD in the country for 20 years and has a ton of respect from all of our coaches. Billy Donovan and a number of others would be pissed if we fired him.

Possibly or a guy that is a head coach with a defensive background that has still had prolific offenses (i.e. Todd Graham), but I think will most certainly have some experience putting exciting offenses on the field.
