There are potential openings in the SEC, like Texas A&M, Arkansas, Ole Miss, LSU and Tennessee.

Bob Stoops would be an immediate upgrade over every coach not named Nick Saban. He would bring a high-scoring offense, quarterback development and consistency to a program instantaneously.

Do you see him coming to the SEC, riding off into the sunset or eventually coaching again somewhere outside the SEC?

I find it hard to believe he's done...

Big Game Bob would do very well with VOLS imo. He would be my third choice behind Jon David Gruden and that beautiful SOB Lane Kiffin

I don't think Bob Stoops would agree to coach at any bottom dwellers like Arkansas, Texas A&M or Ole Miss, but I could see him at Tennessee or LSU.

Tennessee has the players, but they lack the coaching. Same with LSU.

I think Big Game Bob got tired and would have no desire to compete in the gauntlet of the SEC.

Especially rebuilding a program.

I personally think he was "forced out" because of the whole Joe Mixon fiasco. It was mishandled from the beginning and that's what caused him to "leave" Oklahoma.

I think I read that he was moving to the Chicago area, I think one of their kids just started at Northwestern.

If he ends up in the SEC, it will be working for little brother Mark. Maybe next year.

I think most were definitely surprised.

I certainly didn't see it coming. And I actually just remembered about it today.

He left big shoes to fill...

If would have to be a school with a history of winning but down now. It definately wouldnt be a Mississippi school but Tenn seems the perfect place. He comes in creating big buzz wins quick and gets out.

He was done with grind. He didn't want to be like his dad. Dying on a sideline.

IMO if he coaches again it'll either be at Iowa or Notre Dame.

Nope.

Kirk Ferentz will retire from Iowa after 2018. Iowa will call Mark Stoops, the 2017 SEC East Champ, home. Big Bro Bobby will be bored from retirement by then and looking for something to pass some time, but not wanting a full time job. So he'll hell out his brother as an "defensive analyst" and help lil bro out with game plans and recruiting and what not.

Together the two successful Stoops brothers will help return their alma mater back to the glory of their playing days that was Iowa in the 80s under their mentor, tGOAT Hayden Fry.

It will be beautiful
