I know at LSU, the player has to have graduated to be eligible to have his jersey # retired.

I'd guess Benintendi is the most decorated player in program history. Has Arkansas mentioned anything about holding #16 from next year's squad?

Or should Benintendi pass his # down to a deserving player?

I do not know if they have even retired Tim Lollar's number, his needs to be retired before Benintendi's.

I also think that McReynold's and King's should be retired before his also.

I thought they had retired Johnny Ray's but I could be mistaken. If they haven't then his needs to be also.

They should, Benintendi is probably the most accomplished Arkansas athlete in the last 50 years.

I think only De Bryan has a # retired, but I definitely am not a Razorback historian.

Arkansas isn't big on retiring numbers.

There are only two numbers retired from the basketball program, 3 or so on the football side with several players having shared those numbers.

He definitely could be up there as far as best season, but with only one GREAT year it would be hard to put his legacy above guys like Corliss and McFadden who both did it for 3 years.

I do think he will get a statue or something eventually though

as the poster above said- he's won the most awards in a single year, yes.

let's hope he doesn't turn out like the aggies superhero and just be a bust/punchline in the pro's.
