Alabama is a juggernaut, a dynasty and probably the greatest college football program of all time if you will. But they've caught more lucky breaks than any other championship team in recent history. Let's take a walk down memory lane:

2009

2011

2012

2015
Legit

2017

Expectations are higher than ever, anything less than a championship will be considered a failure. Does Saban and team have what it takes to win a legit title this year? I'm not sure, luck has been on their side for the majority of their most recent run.

Nah, if we're gonna call all those lucky breaks then I can give you some for every championship team

It won't matter. In 20 or 30 years they will just claim all the NCs from 2007 til Saban retires like they have always done.

Oh, boo-hoo! By any metric you measure, Alabama has more national championships than any team in college football.

Since the original conference expansion back in 1992, we have six national championships. Since the dawn of the BCS era we have five national championships. Since the second conference expansion in 2012, we have three national championships. Since the birth of the College Football Playoff we have two national championships.

We have 12 national championships in the Poll Era (1936-Present). If you don't want to count 1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, and 1941 - fine. We have plenty more.

Is that 57 in your name referencing the year Auburn claims a national championship without even going to a bowl game, or are you in your 60s?

Rose Bowls were invitationals for the nation's top two teams and were widely considered national titles both then and retrospectively. Other winners from the era claim them.

I can't imagine how sad your little life is. You are more consumed by Alabama than Updyke.

All comes out in the wash. We've had good luck and an equal amount of bad. BTW 21-0 ain't luck. But in answer to your question who knows, UA may never win another or be good enough to win another. That's why they play the games. LSU is good but had good luck against AU this year. Maybe this is your year.

Will inthecards ever quit sucking corks? Will Bobby Petrino ever take another Sunday motorcycle ride? The are the questions the whole world wonders about.

Just going off the ones I have personally heard: ohio state being on a bowl ban. Losing to aTm late in the season and still getting in. Got off easy getting to play notre damn. Georgia was better than us and it took refs for us to win the SECCG. Refs gave Bama the game against lsu. Oregon lost in OT and shouldnt have dropped below Bama.

New member here, I'm hoping to get some valuable info on Alabama before our big matchup. Most Cards are optimistic, but we have a legit shot at knocking off Bama. Our prolific offense will be lead by 4 star rs sophomore QB Jawon Pass and will be backed by a trio of speedy WRs in Dez Fitzpatrick, Jaylen Smith and Seth Dawkins...which could be the best WR corp in the ACC, and among the best in the nation. RB will be a solid group even with Trotter transferring. Oline will be much improved, and will be among the best in the ACC. We return 4 starters...remember the name Lukayus McNeil. You may hear his name come up a lot. All and all I think it will be a tough game but we have a scrappy bunch with a lot to prove. We'll be able to score some points on Bama, anywhere between 28 and 38 points. This will be the best offense they have seen in an opener.

What does that have to do with this 2018 team? We have a better team this year even without Lamar. For one our oline is much better than the past few years, and we have some eaters on D.

We'll tee it up in a few more days. Good luck and I'm hoping for an injury free game on both sides. My final score prediction is 35-24 Cards. Petrino has the team fired up and they are confident in their preparation. We'll be able to move the ball and will have success in the air with Puma and our 3 speedy WRs. From accounts close to the team, the oline looks great and the defense has gelled. I think we'll shock the world Saturday. Let's go!!!!!! Never scared.

People said that the last time we played big bad Florida and Alabama. We'll put up some big points, our WRs are going to dominate Bama's young DBs.

We are going to shock a lot of people. Most teams lose to Bama when they step off the bus, we won't be scared. They have formed a special motto just for this game. Petrino has some things up his sleeve.

Bama isn't some unbeatable team. We have the tools to beat them and most importantly the team knows they will win

Look I know you guys are going to be good but this team won't be scared and they are fired up for this game. Their mindset is set on winning and they are going to approach play callling aggressively. I really don't see your secondary slowing down our WRs, I think that's going to be a big mismatch.
