I never thought I'd see the day when a powerhouse football school dreams to one day be like Mizzou football.

Mizzou has made it big time, ladies!

We SEC now

Well, in all fairness, the question was posed by an ag. Aspiring to be Mizzou isn't such a reach when the "golden age" of football for your program is a 13-11 record in conference.

I think this is why they play the games to actually find out these type questions. Always fun to speculate ahead of time, but I doubt this happens.

you are in a league with Bama, Auburn, and LSU

getting to the SEC championship doesn't impress.

winning it does, winning a national championship gets you real respect.

Is it possible for A&M to start under the radar? last year a one game mirage vaulted A&M into national title contender status for over a month.

Maybe not. Its a Brave New World of a nationally relevant Texas A&M. We all have to adjust.

Edit, 13-11 is the Ags record I suppose? I had no idea.

Texas A&M could easily back their way into the SEC Championship game. Their schedule breaks down into three peaks: The two-week span of MSU and Arkansas, the 4-week span of Ole Miss, Bama, SCAR, and Auburn, and the LSU game. I think they definitely have the team to get through the first area of MSU and Arkansas, and if they hit a stride based on those victories they could possibly get through that 4-week span with 1 loss. Finally the LSU game is highly advantageous with a cream-puff OOC and Vandy as the games leading up to LSU. If I were to guess I'd say A&M gets out of the season 9-3 with losses to Bama, Arkansas, and LSU, but they have a schedule that, while not easy, allows the team to hit a stride and possibly run the table in the most important part of the season.

I see A&M losing these 3 plus Auburn.

I'm actually more worried about Auburn and LSU than Bama and Arky.

We know what Johnson is capable of talent wise, but can Gus invent a scheme that works with his pocket passer abilities. If so, and the D buys into muschamp, then we all better watch out. If LSU can field a QB that's worth a damn, I will be very worried.

If we can be more disciplined and make as many or fewer defensive mistakes than bama, they are beatable; and Arky doesn't have a reliable passing game.

I'm not quite as worried about Auburn as other people are. Malzahn's offense has struck gold when he has a quarterback that is just as dangerous a runner as his runningbacks - it's literally just too many things to take into account for a lot of defenses. While Johnson is athletic he isn't a mobile freak such as Newton and Marshall. Not much else about that offense changes although we could see Duke Williams blow up as the best receiver in the SEC, especially with a more pure passer throwing him the ball. Not much changes with that defense, and I don't think you see significant positive effects of Muschamp (if there are any to be had) until year 2 or 3. I see Auburn regressing a little bit, but it's as much of a guess as anything.
