Charlotte is a good place. Chill out, Al...

Im sure it is, but based on our Egg Bowl beat down our fan base is already demoralized. That will lead to very few forking out the money to travel to North Carolina.

The fact nobody has ever heard of the bowl also makes it seem like a bad draw.

With richt leaving, UGA is going to have its pick of bowl games. Personally want music city vs pen state

Why is this? Are you saying more fans will be happy and willing to buy bowl tickets bc Richt is fired?

Well, look on the bright side. At least you don't have to fly to New Orleans for New Year's Day. And play in the Sugar Bowl of all places. And eat fresh oysters on the half shell while sampling a bourbon flight like I'll have to do.

It could be much much worse.

Just for clarification. I am jealous of going to the Sugar Bowl to see your team play...I am not jealous of going to a city that I have been to a ton of times.

The teams in the pool of 6 (played in the last 2 years or played in the same city this year)
A&M (Liberty, Texas)
LSU (Music City, Outback)
MSU (Liberty)
UT (Taxslayer, Music City)
UGA (Belk, Taxslayer, Taxslayer)
ARK (Texas)

So really only UGA should avoid the Belk.

Because he's coaching the bowl game. He's the second winningest coach in program history and a lot of fans have already said they will make the trip to see him off. Considering UGA already travels very well and has a large alumni base around the southeast, well more than likely sell out allotment with the quickness.

Didn't know that. Thought he was done and wouldn't coach the bowl. The interviewing and traveling today really threw me off.

Farmer, does A&M fans want the Texas Bowl again?

Nope.

We're sick and tired of playing the Big 12. Plus, as my post said, we should avoid the Texas Bowl since we just played in Houston in September vs ASU. Best I can tell the fanbase wants a FL bowl or the Belk. We just played Vandy a few weeks ago so that would be a quick return to Nashville.

Edit: The fanbase remembers the Texas Bowl of the bottom of the bottom tiers for Big 12 Bowls. Its not that way anymore, but a lot of fans don't realize that.
