Just my opinion, but I think when both offenses are working as intended, the pro-style is still more effective

I agree for certain teams. You wouldn't want to change a successful spread team to pro style like Oregon or even Ole Miss. But, Bama and LSU are very successful pro style teams. LSU's problem has always been their QB. This year their defense has weakened giving up over 23 pts/game. They need to get their defense back and a QB that can work within a system. But they need that system first because I haven't seen one. Bama's system has been able to adapt from a dual threat like Sims to a pure pro style like Coker. But, it took a long time to get those guys ready to run the team- both 5 year guys (Coker 2 yes at Bama). I'm not sure Les can fix it because Steele is not the guy to fix the defense and Cameron doesn't seem to be able to create a system for QB's. So, I would get rid of the whole staff and bring in a new guy. Preferably a pro style coach maybe even an NFL coach.

The fact that we run the most predictable offense in CFB no matter who the play caller is says it all. Les is stubborn. He won't change, so we need to change the coach.

FWIW I agree we need a new offensive scheme. With our playmakers we could be having a lot more success on that side of the ball.

I disagree. Mettenberger is a good QB and even he struggled his first year playing in our system. Harris is good enough. In a spread offense he would look much better than he does now.

LES MILES: I think the spread offense is a tremendous way to move the football. I have no problem with it whatsoever. It's just a piece of something that we do. But we enjoy the fact that there is a physicality to the style of offense that we run, that we're going to challenge a defense and try to control the line of scrimmage and block them. And it's not necessarily a pass-only event, and I think that that's how our offense is built. I think we'll stay there.

They've run out of the shotgun for 2 weeks now. Worst 2 performances of the year starting the game down 21-0 and 24-0 respectively.
