I hope you are moderately inconvenienced in the near future

Eh, it's more than LSU fans. Plenty of people with no skin in the game think LSU will be a contender this year. I'm cautiously optimistic. I do think they will beat the piss out of Arkansas though.
You didn't think this one through

Maybe not but LSUs chances are infinitely better than TAMU's. I don't expect much more than 7-8 wins from TAMU.

That's all I expect from LSU. No QB. No defensive coordinator. Fournette will be saving himself for the NFL. It's going to be a very lackluster season for the swamp kittens.

Plus unlike the last few years most underclassmen stayed for their senior season.
Because they weren't going to get drafted. The same players who were manhandled/destroyed by Bama, Ark and OM are back to get that arse whooped again. SISO .

Still not convinced Harris has what it takes though. If Harris is decent and we have just a average passing attack LSU will be hard to beat.
He doesn't .
L5u had a decent passing attack last year. Will need more than decent, a lot more.
Until Nov happened, every L5u fan was in here boasting about how much improved Harris was passing, he was gonna light up Bama. LF was gonna hang 250. LSu fans were pointing to the 200 yard passing UF game (basically 2 busted plays got the majority of his yards)as evidence plus his yards vs the other scrub games.
Don't give me this "just decent passing" is all that's needed. Had that last year.

If by lackluster you mean 10 wins and a solid bowl, you're prob right
And you'd love for TAMU to be in that position

There are some fans who are determined that it is this year or bust but I would imagine that the majority are more realistic in that it takes more than having the best team on paper to win.
Well it is this year or bust for Miles. The only people being unrealistic are the guys that aren't saying that. This isn't just about this team on paper (which btw is extremely loaded). The situation has never been this good before.

I fall in the category that this is one of the best chances in a while and we have a favorable schedule with which to work with and I plan to enjoy seeing how they do.
This isn't one of the best, this is the best team since 2011, and it's actually the best chance since 2007. The schedule was freaking loaded in 2011. We beat the national champion (on the road), a Sugar Bowl participant, the Pac 12 champion and Rose Bowl winner (neutral site), and the Big East co-champ and Orange Bowl winner (on the road) all in the regular season. We beat all but one team by at least 2 TDs.
So yes, top 3 best team in the country on paper, best chance in almost a decade, and best LSU team on paper since 2006 (another missed opportunity). Replacing a crap DC with a top 5 DC, going back to man coverage (zone killed us last year), and not being gutted by the draft, this is the year. In 2017 we lose at least 7 starters on defense (could be 9 depending on who starts side by side with Jamal and Beckwith), and 6 starters on offense (could be 7 depending on who starts on OL outside the top 4). That means we we'll bring back 5-8 starters total, and everybody else but TAMU and Ole Miss should have a returning starter at QB in the West. So a rebuilding defense vs Shea at Ole Miss and 4 more returning starters, does not bold well for our chances of finishing with more than 9 regular season wins.

Little Brother Aggies begging LSU to be their rival.....all the time.

The only way LSU wins the national title this year is if Alabama beats themselves in Baton Rouge. They advance themselves through our good graces.
Posted on 5/5/16 at 5:47 am to hawgfaninc
They are going to split it with Tennessee.
Posted on 5/5/16 at 7:25 am to hawgfaninc
Their going to have to be much less one dimensional on offense if they even want to win the West. With even a serviceable quarterback they would look like a great team on paper.

It must suck not to have any optimism about an upcoming season.
