Hard to be good on defense when your offense gives the other team free chances 4 or 5 times per game.

UF had 11 first downs that game and possessed the ball for only 20 minutes. The UF defense was responsible for 14 of their 21 points.

How can anyone hate Muschamp? Will is an endless source of amusement although I don't think Gators are in on the joke.

Has he ever coached a defense for a team that tries to play so fast on offense?

That's what I'll be curious to seeing is how well his defense holds up not saying it won't. It would be foolish to say he's going to have a hard time, but it still intrigues me.

How many of those seasons was he handicapped with a HUNH offense?

No way you can put Smart #1 after last season.

One season doesn't make or break anyone. He had the SEC's #1 defense for the six seasons prior to last year.

I find having Jeff Driskell your starting QB a wayyyyyyyy worse handicap.

Oh, you're the type of person that think that defense exists in a vacuum and isn't effected by the offense then?

Or are you still trying to claim that Mizzou's offense put up 42 points on UF's defense?

I don't think you can put Smart at #1 until he has a defense on a team that isn't run by nick Saban

Saban has had good defenses every where he has been.

Not that smart couldn't do it, be he hasn't

Not sure why people hate him. He's an excellent defensive mind. UFs D struggled a bit the first 1/2 of the season last year because of 2 first year starters at Safety.

Which handicap is worse?

A HUNH offense that nearly scores at will and in every fashion (fast or slow), or an offense that struggles to string together first downs to continue a drive, much less score a lot of points?

Again with the lazy analysis. Explained on the previous page that AU offense doesn't handicap the d.

I don't hate Muschamp at all. He has been very accommodating to Bama the last few times we've faced him.

May he continue to accommodate.

Guess i am biased but pretty damn impressed w/ Dave Wommack. I'm guessing his D will be pretty good in '15 too. I called him a washed up retread when we hired him.
