I wrote for Bleacher report before it was big back in the mid2000s

Yeah, I wrote a few around that time as well.

I only use Bleacher Report as a sports news aggregate. They typically pick out hot topics from news papers, and occassionally from national outlets.

It's the slide slows that I try to ignore as they are generally super opinionated BS without any real analysis or substance.

It's one of the better sites on the net for football, IMO.

It has a sordid history. For much of its time, it was basically 18 and 19 year olds (or their mental equivalents in the adult world) writing Dear Diary articles about their favorite teams and/or teams they hated. When CNN/SI bought the site a little while back, a greater degree of professionalism was instituted, and brought in/promoted actual sports writers who cared about sports rather than just writing about their favorite teams and recapping the essentials of whatever tipsy midnight bullshite sports discussions they had with their dorm mates. It's just taken some people a while to learn to trust the changes in BR, especially since you still get a certain amount of the old-style stuff mixed in with the good articles.
