It was embarrassing. The rant loves to talk shite about the student section in a "back in my day" sort of way, but only the student section was full at kickoff. The east lower bowl was pathetic, and those are some of the best seats in the house.

I really hate when people shite on student sections. A large part of the problem is they often schedule crappy games that no one is excited about. We have played one home SEC game this year, and the student section was full until the right before the end. Quality of opponent is the biggest thing IMO.

Jesus, even Sanford Stadium with it's fickle arse student sections and country club members has been pretty full every game this year (granted, every game save North Texas has been against a ranked opponent in gorgeous weather).

My son and I had a great time yesterday in the SEZ. It was hot. But, I was pretty surprised to see an entire empty section in the NE endzone.
Don't know for sure, but since they instituted the pay to park/tailgate on campus (other than the reserved lots), attendance has gone down. People are leaving earlier. I guess its the whole diminishing marginal returns thing.
