The committee considers every game within the season, not just the three you care to cite... fact is, Florida could have easily lost against the following:

East Carolina
Tennessee

And struggled against Kentucky

I think Florida is a top 5 to 10 team but not better than that

I think it's as simple as the committee has had time to review Alabama since their loss at home to Ole Miss, and haven't really been able to gauge UF since their loss to LSU on the road. Alabama reenergized their playoff hopes with a convincing win over a then overrated UGA squad. Since then UGA has lost Chubb, and has not scored a TD in 9 quarters. I think it's safe to say that the committee didn't view UF's victory over UGA in the same light as Alabama's. Florida struggled with teams early on while trying to find an identity, and that likely played a large role in the committee's decision of UF over Alabama.

I'm not sure that Alabama is better than UF. The only reason I can think of that Bama would ranked 6 spots ahead of UF is the OOC shed we have played. The committee may be putting more weight on that Wiscy win at the beginning of the season. If that's the case, UF has FSU coming up and that could reverse the rankings.

I would agree with the OP if Florida still had their QB. The bottom line is that Florida was far and away better than they were last year with Grier. With Harris, they are only a coaching shade better and extremely vulnerable. YEs, they could win out. But, they could lay an egg and lose to someone they shouldn't and also lose to FSU. Meanwhile, Alabama is on a steady upward trend. We will see how deserving they are Saturday.
