Why does Chizik have defacto Coach For Life designation?
Because if Auburn crosses him he spills the beans on the Dirty Dirty Cam Newton NCAA Scandalpalooza ?

Two considerations. Don't fire him until you have a top caliber coach already lined up. What's the point of replacing Chizik with another mediocre coach? And you have to be careful of public PR backlash from firing him so soon after a NC. It's not right, but you have to deal with it nonetheless.

we wont beat alabama at home bringing his iron bowl record to 1-5
Chizik will never see his sixth Iron Bowl.

Saban's first real class showed up on the field immediately.
I would argue that Saban's biggest signing so far was Mt. Cody. That started it all.

No way you can fire him after 2010, he at least gets to the 2019 season for the MNC

Why should chizik get another year?

If your crystal-ball winning coach gets booted before ours, I'm going to be seriously pissed.

betcha somebody big in the auburn fam is already "preparing" to do something if there is no improvement. auburn is going to demand a competitive team and a shot at winning the iron bowl. the NC clouds things but if y'all have a yr like last yr he'll probably be "on probation" or outright fired. something is wrong at auburn or the recruiting ratings are awful. y'all rank high and then look like shite on the field; and it's not all qb.

That would be stupid. If he got fired and ever wanted another coaching job he would keep his mouth shut. This of course is assuming Auburn paid Cam Newton, which has not been proven.

Coaches get fired on message boards all the time, but no way is Chizik on the hot seat in reality. If AU has a bad year this year AND next year, he might be coaching for his job in 14. No way Auburn implodes enough on the field to do anything sooner.

The caption above Chiz's head in that photo should read "shiny"

ULM-?
LSU-L
Arky-?
OM-?
Vandy-L(right now atleast)
TAMU-L
NMSU-W
UGA-L
Bama A&M - W
Bama-L
so more then likely even if they win every ? game he finishes below 500. they have to win at vandy to get to 500.
thats grounds for being on the hot seat.

If we end up with 3 wins, I think it would be very hard for him to keep his job. At this point 6 wins and a lot of improvement as the year goes along would help him keep his job. Then next year he'd probably have to win 10. We'll return the majority of the 2 deep on both sides of the ball for the second year in a row and his first good recruiting class(10) will be in it's fourth year. With the amount of quality, experienced depth we'll have next year, there should be no reason we shouldn't compete for the west. If we're not in the running, I don't think Chizik should stay.
As for the OL being young, they are. That's really the only position on the field, other than QB I guess, that we can claim is young. We have sophomores scattered around, but right now at OL we are left to right - Rfr, Sr, Soph, Rsoph, Fr and the Sr is only out there because of his experience. He's not a great linemen and he may get passed up by the time the year's done. The backups left to right are Rfr, Rfr, Rsoph, Fr, Fr, so we're looking at one upperclassmen and 3 true freshmen and 3 Rfr on the two deep. And the rest are either Fr or Rfr after that. You can't argue that's really young.
The rest of the team on the other hand has enough experience and age that they should be playing better than they are, there's no doubt about that.

I'll go with fingertip ties to undefeated seasons, best staff ever assembled, top recruiting classes since he arrived and NC in third year. Clean program. What did I miss?

This, plus highly ranked recruiting classes.
