No but Kansas basketball ratings will easily deliver high ratings in SEC country, much like Kentucky does.

Maybe (a really big maybe) it would translate to higher subscriber fees but the subscriber fee for the SEC Network is bound to be pretty pricey as is for what is already an extremely valuable commodity without adding Kansas to the mix.

We'll know just what that fee will be later this year.

Here in Oregon, I'm still waiting for DirecTV to add the Pac 12 network so I can watch all the Beavers games that moved over there.

Kansas should join the Pac 12 just to make my life better -- because according to you there's no way DirecTV could possibly refuse to add any network that includes Kansas basketball.

I'm happy for you that you made a thread to make yourself feel better about Kansas. Or to troll us. Or whatever.

But Kansas is never going to join the SEC. Bookmark it.

Honestly, the Aggies were the only prize we sought but we needed a 14th school for balance. Mizzou was the best of the worst choices available.

Shoulda been Va Tech

As I said, best of the worst.

Interesting enough, here's how the Virginia schools compare to Kansas, Mizzou and A&M in terms of athletic dept. revenue:

Texas A&M: $87.2 million
Virginia: $78.4 million
Kansas: $74.8 million
Virginia Tech: $66.9 million
Missouri: $64.1 million
LINK

Virginia does have 2 million more people than Missouri though.

Florida State, Clemson, or UNC would be my first-tier picks. They are all good fits for the SEC. Public schools with southern roots and big time programs in multiple sports.

All have good overall baseball programs.
FSU and Clemson have good football programs.
UNC's basketball program is legendary.

Kansas is purely basketball and offers nothing else.

I am pretty sure 90% of the people on here would trade Missou for you right now man. I hear still it is UNC and Duke or Va Tech and NC state but hell UVA was supposed to bolt already and start the wheels in motion so what the hell

KU gets 75-85% of the KC market. Mizzou might get 10%

Clearly a porker alter, he gave this exact same stat earlier in the thread. By the way for people who have never been to KC before this number is patently false.

The reason the alum stats in KC seems a little out of whack is because kU considers anyone who attended their school for 2 years to be an alum, what a frickin joke

It's not possible for their alumnus records to be correct because Univ of Missouri has NEVER once been a smaller school that kU YET SOMEHOW they boast a larger alumni base, that's some yank math for you.

Sam Houston and Lamar would also be better choices than KU.

I don't know if the OP is fricking serious or not. This is the SOUTH fricking EASTERN Conference. Not the buck-teethed, naisalie talkin yankee 10. Misery is bad enough. Buy hell fricking no to KU.

We should have added VT to the SEC instead of MU as #14.

LOL@ him saying Mizzou getting 10% of the KC market. You hardly find people from the state of Missouri cheering for KU. If they cheer for KU it's because they live on the KCK side, not KCMO. KCMO side is bigger!!! Yes I'll give him Johnson Co and Wyandotte,CO in KC Metro, those are counties in Kansas. Doubt if you'll find MIZZOU fans living over there. People in Missouri don't like Kansas, hardly go over there, sure as hell not gonna root for KU if they don't care for the state of Kansas. And he also might want to know Mizzou have a school in KCMO. UMKC!!

Lol ever been to KC? Those people are KU and KSU fans almost exclusively. Missouri fans make up less than 10% I bet

this thread is silly obviously, and the thing that jumped out at me as the dumbest part about it was the people saying that they got the KC market.
