Any big city, especially one in the top 3 like Chicago, is first, second & third, a pro sports town. It would have no clue as to what the CWS means to college baseball teams/fans. Casual fans from the Chicago area going to watch a game between say TCU and Cal Berkley? The locals in Omaha are 1000% behind the event & it is their volunteer base that makes the CWS so special to fans from out of town. The games would literally get lost in a big city like Chicago. Went to the LSU/Wash. football in Seattle a few yrs ago. The city as a whole had no idea that the game was even being played, it is such a pro town. Generations of kids have grown up dreaming of Omaha. Not Chicago.

i used to l Chicago and while yes it is a pro sports town, there is a huge amount of college sports/general sports fans that would be interested in the event. Big baseball town

the volunteer aspect is probably a little lost there tho.

Im just saying the most attractive place if it were to leave Omaha is Chicago.

Im ok with it staying in Omaha. never been and I have heard great things about the event. looking forward to Bama's next trip so I can go visit.

Although I do think the new stadium design is lacking something.

It's always been in Omaha.

Why move it? It's never given an advantage to Nebraska, Creighton, Iowa, or other area schools who have made it - other than maybe a little more fan support.

If there is a worst state in the union, it would be the state of ignorance and illogical judgment...

Nebraska is literally the worst state in the union. If the NCAA want's this second tier sport to grow it seems like they would rotate the world series across different venues. Places like Yankee stadium, progressive field, fenway park, the cardinals stadium, etc.

I went to Omaha for the CWS, loved it. You can always find something to do in any U.S. city. Bars, clubs, malls, zoo, etc. Also fun being with different college fan bases. Like a big party.

Nearly all these states are better than Nebraska. The states you listed have at least one redeemable quality. Nebraska is just fricking boring as hell.

I'm good with it in Omaha. It's centrally located for all teams and the locals really support it. It's got that perfect "Anytown USA" stigma attached to it that I find is perfect for amateur baseball.

St. Louis, imo. Would probably do wonders for the Univ. Missouri baseball program too.

I love how some people on here make the same argument about the SEC tournament being in Hoover and then turn around and get a boner thinking about Ohmaha, Nebraska

The worst analogy in the world is drawn by comparing Hoover with Omaha.

Because it is the geographic center of the contiguous US. Why couldn't it be played in Kansas City or somewhere like that?
