I heard a stat this morning that top 5 teams on the road on Thursday nights are 7-8 in the last 10 years.

Bettors must be betting the other side or Vegas wouldn't keep making AU's lines so low,

Agree with *Aman* above. Betting lines are 25% reality (experts' best guesses on the teams' quality), and 75% perception (Vegas moves the lines to increase betting on both sides).

Vegas doesn't care about picking winners. That's why they tolerate idiots like Danny Sheridan and Mel Kiper. They just need there to be A LOT of betting on both sides, and they make their money on the vig.

They constantly adjust the lines to achieve that result.

I don't see why people think this line is low. Home team gets 3 pts for being at home...probably another point for a thurs night...if auburn was at home the line could easily be 17

And no better game to employ this tactic than tonight. It will take us about a quarter and a half to get our bearings on defense in that environment. Then it's off to the races

KSU is 12-4 ATS at home as a dog with nine outright wins. When I heard Whitehead was out I took KSU straight up at +265

Too small of a sample size.

That is the whole sample. Gus has only coached 16 games w/ Auburn.

Agree on both.

At this point, AU is the team to beat in the SEC.

And the Tigers should have the scrubs in the entire 4th quarter.

Doubt it, though we do pile it on quickly. I could see a tight game after halftime moving toward an easy win over the course of the 3rd. More likely, though, if we put it out of reach it'll be early in the 4th, I would guess.

That said, people just still don't know what to make of Auburn, and I can't blame them. We're fallible, it just doesn't show itself in an especially systematic way that makes for easy predictions. Thus, people are riding the environment in this one for the idea that a slip up on our end could open the game up. Which, IMO, is plausible.
