If you look at the most consistently successful programs in the SEC over the past 10-20 years, they've been the ones that have good in-state HS football. TN is not one of those schools and won't be able to recruit in GA anymore now that we have gotten rid of the scourge that led UT to be able to pull players from GA in the numbers that they had on the '98 team. TN football is not what it was during the early days of the collage game, and won't be again on a consistent basis.

The truth can sometimes be painful. Try not to hang onto one game out of the last 6 that you won. CMR gift wrapped and handed that game to you, so we fired him. UT is a 2-3 tier SEC program with a very ugly school color and the worst fight song in all of CFB. Makes me cringe with embarrassment for the entire league every time I hear Rocky Top played on football Saturday.

I understand your history. So don't get me wrong in that regard.

I just don't respect your accomplishments in my lifetime. I am living in history too.

I just don't see a great deal of accomplishments in your recent past for my age group.

SEC and National Championships by Alabama, Florida, Auburn and LSU are what I remember.

Tennessee, not so much. I am sure you had some great years, but I was born after that time.

Don't blame me for that, blame yourselves. That is just how this current generation sees things.

Duh. Do you honestly believe we can sign all the Georgia recruits. You will continue to get UGA players every year. What he is saying, is that looking at the top recruits this year, it would appear as if Kirby will be getting MOST of the top recruits out of Georgia. Sure, we will lose a few, but Smart is doing much better in state that we normally do.

I have no beef with Tennessee fans. But saying you sign Georgia recruits seems......odd.

So I am guessing you are 17 or younger?

Even then TN has won 3 SEC East titles and were a QTR away from their 2nd National Title game in 4 years in 2001.

If you truly want to claim that TN has done nothing in your lifetime then you must be 8 years old.

So they are sort of like Ole Miss?

At least Tennessee has been to the SECCG without having to buy a ticket.

What do you mean by SEC East Titles?

Those things don't hold much weight as we all know.

How so? We do sign our fair share of GA recruits. Just from the past 2 years:

Preston Williams
Micah Abernathy
Quart'e Sapp
Andrew Butcher
Nigel Warrior
Marquez Callaway

Were also still in the running for a good number of GA recruits for '17 as well

You're living in the past, dude. Nashville-Murfreesboro area is one of the fastest growing in the nation. And with growth comes more better players. Tennessee is the southern state that is gaining on the Georgias and Floridas of the world.

Well, they have in your lifetime. It was in your lifetime that it was the East dominating the SEC.

Yes you do. Do you think we can sign them all?

Alabama signs some. Florida signs some.

You know what I can say? We sign some Tennessee recruits!
So, what exactly does that mean?

You might be gaining on us, but you are still a long, long ways off. That is not a knock on Tennessee. I find it more incredible that Tennessee has had the history they have had, since they have primarily had to go out of state for their best recruits. For me, that is more impressive.

From 2007 to the present the West has won 8 out of the last 9 titles. That is very impressive.

From 1992 until 2006 it was 10-5 advantage East. I assume you were born in 1992 or later?
Since West members only want to take a 9 year stretch, though, let me choose a 9 year stretch. lets look at
1993 until 2001. Now it looks like the East had a 7-2 record. Very similar to what the West is enjoying, now. Now, since your lifetime is all that matters, I would say an East title when Tennessee was winning them meant something.

But as previously noted, Tennessee's SEC "history" is primarily built upon what happened from 1932 to 1960. I said earlier that UT was the 2nd best SEC team up to 1970, but according to Stassen.com UT actually had a better winning pct than Alabama (which surprised me) from 1932 to 1960. From 1960 to 2015, though, they are 6th in the conference behind Alabama, UGA, UF, LSU, and Auburn.
