I understand that but it should've never been scheduled MU owes them nothing and it serves MU no purpose to play it. May as well play SIU since SGF media has no interest in helping MU out in any way

Which SIU ILS Eastern and Western are. They are all within 4 hours of CoMo.

I think GP felt he owed Steckel. That doesn't make scheduling the game the right thing to do but whatever. I think we've played SEMO in the past. Not a lot different.

Right, it was done as a favor for Coach Steck, long time CGP assistant. Also, a good chunk of their staff are Mizzou alums or have Mizzou ties.

When Slippery Rock turned him down that was a huge red flag, imo. He begged for that job. I was always surprised his brother never got another head job somewhere

Pretty odd thread to start to brag about SMS beating mizzou in basketball a thousand years ago. Congrats though.

you are exactly right... a small school playing an SEC school helps keep their budget inline. Help a brother out and get that W... it is a win win situation
