Then they're as dumb as you are. Each sec school gets same # of tickets. If they chose to fill those seats with pep band or full band LSU doesn't care from a monetary standpoint. The school bought the tickets and can choose to fill them with bands or fans.

Read this excerpt from the article, genius. Now you want to rethink your post?

"Meanwhile, if it is a money issue, as many people seem to think, it benefits LSU in a couple of ways. First, reducing the visitors from a marching band down to a pep band probably saves 200 seats or so (that's a guess) that can be sold to LSU fans. I'm not sure that a decibel or two makes a difference in the chaotic noise of Tiger Stadium, or that 200 tickets, even at $125 or so each, is such a huge financial windfall that you'd sacrifice years of tradition for the dollars. But perhaps those seats now become season tickets."

Again, each school is allotted x number of tickets. They can sell them and fill them as they see fit. Schools don't give back the tickets because they choose to leave band members behind. They sell them to their fans or distribute to administrators.

The SEC league office mandates that each visiting SEC team be given a set number of tickets. LSU & bama used to give each other more till bama back stabbed LSU one yr when it was hosting & gave LSU a smaller number of tickets than previously agreed on. LSU of course, reciprocated. Makes no sense as safety can not be the reason & for the most part, e except for the drunk college kids here, LSU fans are not happy either.

LSU knows this. You will get pep bands and pep bands only from here forward. Enjoy the washed up singing acts at half time.

Who wants to watch the other team's band anyway? If I want to, I will find a video on Youtube. Shorten college football halftimes to the same time as the NFL and get back to the action.

due to the small sidelines at the stadium

BS excuse. Our stands are pressed up onto the benches and UT and FSU bands still march no problem.

There's gotta be another reason that they're not saying.

Agreed, UF sidelines are really close to the benches and are tighter than Tiger Stadiums. I think the whole thing is BS and can be corrected by admins in the future.

Wait a minute, bands march on the field at halftime? And people know this how?

safety issue, too many people at the same time along the sides of the field. While I am against the policy, I can understand the reasoning

Because Curly Hallman field at Tiger Stadium has room for 1 band only.

Since when do so many people care about the fricking band?

Just make it short piped in music and a shorter half time and get back to the action like the NFL.

Damn. I guess that means the LSU fans will miss out on the Marching Southerners this season.

Thats a shame.
