To piss people off. It's been highly effective so far.

I think they can come, they just cant march at halftime. Odds are, LSU wants the SEC to respond in kind and give them an excuse not to send the full band to away games.

i don't know what is going on with that except our president Roy king is destroying our university. I hope Lsu fans don't complain when our band is not allowed in other stadiums.

They only went to one game anyway. Not much savings.

The article in the Tuscaloosa News didn't give their reasoning?

the ARE allowing opposing teams' bands to come to Tiger Stadium. where in the hell did you read they are not?
they are not allowing them to march at halftime due to the small sidelines at the stadium and probably some other reason they are not telling us.
I think I have discovered the reason for Trump's popularity. people have no reading comprehension these days.

They are trying to prevent Alabama from bringing the whole band to play Rammer Jammer after beating L6U again.

Because LSU is poor and broke as all hell and they knew with this move that other schools would turn around and ban LSU from performing at their schools at halftime and that way they could save a few bucks by not having to send their band.

Then they're as dumb as you are. Each sec school gets same # of tickets. If they chose to fill those seats with pep band or full band LSU doesn't care from a monetary standpoint. The school bought the tickets and can choose to fill them with bands or fans.

No one is going to pay multiple hundred thousand dollars to send a full band to sit in the stands and not play half.
LSU knows this. You will get pep bands and pep bands only from here forward. Enjoy the washed up singing acts at half time.

This is part of Alleva's plan. When other schools disallow TGBFTL to perform at halftime, they'll just stay in Red Stick and save us money (even if it's only one game).
The "safety" thing is a load of fertilizer. There are only a handful of people who 'have' to be on the sidelines - players, coaches, trainers, etc. The rest are dead wood.
CFB is the greatest sport on the planet and largely due to traditions (and identity). Take those out and you're left with the equivalent of minor league baseball. And marching bands makeup a huge part of a sport and a school's traditions.
Somebody in our Admin is really out-of-touch or really small or both.
