Sumlin's time is up. He's just an average coach

I wont judge Sumlin until we see him coach at a powerhouse school. 6th in the West is quite good for the quality of A&M's program. It seems like just a few years ago Oklahoma beat them 77-0. Sumlin has improved them to only getting beat 59-0 to top rated teams.

Despite people acting like Manziel and Evans were slam dunk superstars coming out of HS

Why does star rawtings matter, does a heisman winner or 1st round pick suddenly not count because they were a 3-star? He left you guys loaded on offense.

Defense is what needed work and it's never gotten better under Sumlin.

Not to mention he can't claim anything the offense did because he inherited it, but can't use that same line of reasoning for the defense

They never played a down for Sherman. They played two years under Sumlin and practiced for one year under Sherman. But Sherman gets 100% of the credit for how good they are. Makes sense

People give zero fricks about A&M outside of College Station. Post like these are why your fan base is the most delusional in the country.

I was at green hills mall in Nashville yesterday and I had 4 people comment about my shirt, including a Vandy student( A&M legacy) and a texas grad who was the manager at J Crew

Butch Jones has a team that could win the SEC East this year.

Great post except this quote. A&M would finish 2nd in the East probably, behind UGA.

HE recruited him, hence he left you loaded on offense. not sure what's hard to process here.

Players don't get better in college, Evans could have done what he did in the NFL as a rookie after his one year of high school ball. I understand the points you're making just fine

He took a flyer on manziel because he had some scholarships to burn, likely thinking he'd play WR like manziel or safety like every other coach in the region.

Like all those seniors on your 07 team who Saban recruited.

Sumlin has beat Alabama.

And that's pretty much it.

Dumplin was left some hell of Oline talent, a Heisman winner, and talent at WR.

Defense he didn't have much, but not much has changed on that side of the ball.

Butch at UT:

12-13, 5-11 SEC, 1-0 in Taxslayer bowl

At least Sumlin managed to blow out OU instead of shitting the bed.

It was pretty unfair Evans didn't get to enter the draft out of HS, but rules are rules I guess

I think Sumlin's a pretty good coach. He's had to deal with a really ineffective defense last few years imo.
