None of his high school players followed him to Tulsa, yet all but one transferred after that 2006 season.

Any of the successful ones recruit. Here in georgia a public school had 20 players living at the same fake address found a few days ago. Tis high school football.

Its dumb. A lot of it goes back to high school rivalries.
Some of it is Nutt lovers.
Some of it is just retardation.

Feel free to hate him, just know that your justification for doing so appears petty and reflects more poorly on you than him.
They weren't blamed for cheating. They were cheating. People have said there kids tuition was paid for to play football but just like Cam there was no proof, plus they are the only private school in the area and are owned by the Oral Roberts of NWA so most would look the other way and for you to approve of actions like that it reflects your poor upbringing.

The issue is that Arkansas high school football is a lot different than it is in Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. There are still very few private schools in the state now and there were only a couple in the late 90's. In those states private schools are common and recruiting is well known. At the time it happened here it was virtually unheard of and pissed a lot of people off. I think it's a lot more common in Arkansas now and if Gus was coming up in this day and age people probably wouldn't care as much. It was just the time that he came up through the high school system it was a big issue.

I like him and hope he wins the 'ship. I feel like it's a conciliation prize for what could have been since it looks like we got a steaming pile of hog shite for a team for years to come.

What's cam got to do with this.
And of there is no proof isn't it possible that it didn't happen?

I am from a state where a large number public school systems are equal or superior to private schools therefore not nearly as many private schools as in the south. The vast majority of private schools are catholic. There can only be so many catholic schools in a region.
They all recruited. And not just private. Kids from Africa, kids from hundreds of miles away. Kids poor as hell, that all the sudden lived in rental homes nearby.

He's a good coach. I honestly didn't think he was SEC ready - and... I was wrong

We had a kid from Germany who played semi pro ball there that the NFL paid his tuition to arena our school. He ended up playing in the SEC a year later.

but when you involve our beloved Razorbacks and involve the entire damn state with your High School drama queen horseshite, it becomes something of a monster that can never be reigned in.
I cant believe a University would not hire someone based off how one pissant highschool in the state conducted itself. Thats frickin ridiculous.

I haven't lived in Northwest Arkansas for many years but I do understand the hatred toward the cult-like religious thing. I saw the same thing happen within a couple of large churches in Central Arkansas that I absolutely despise.
...but I do understand the political and monetary appeal for a lot of people. I don't hate the people. I hate the operation.

The problem is tFlagship is the only major school in the state. There is no other major school for people that disagree with the way it is being run to deflect to. So decisions have to be made to try and keep divisions in the fanbase to a minimum.
Alabama on the other hand, has Auburn to take in people that disagree with the way it's being run.
