To me its because after Alabama no team has really distinquished itself yet.

Alabama right now is the cream of the crop, after that the next few teams

LSU, South Carolina, Auburn, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida

have yet to look that immpressive. IMO

The bottom, Ole Miss, Miss State, Vandy, Tennessee have just looked terrible.

I predict Bama, LSU, Arkansas and South Carolina to separate from the pack.

The SEC had 2 elite teams last year (Bama and Fla).

Fla looks very beatable up to this point.

UGA and Tenn are in the toilet.

Agree that Ark, AU, and S Car look improved but nobody is scared of them.

LSU is a big question mark b/c of the QB play.

Top to bottom, during a "down year" in the SEC, the conference would still destroy all hope of a championship for almost any team from another conference.

They have, really? was it against that great Duke team or a freshman QB starting for Penn State.

They come out this weekend and beat us by 20 or so and then talk shite but not before. They have done nothing while we won a tough SEC road game against Georgia.

We look very average right now. Obviously there are some great players on the team, but we haven't dominated people they way we should be dominating them.

We have won three in a row, and dropped in the rankings after each win. We will likely drop again after beating WSU. Beating Minnesota, Hawai'i and Virginia just aren't going to do things to boost your status in the eyes of pollsters. Same goes for the Cougits.

Translation: traditionally strong SEC teams, Tennessee and UGA are having off years and Florida's offense is still trying to get on track. The question is: will Auburn, SC and Arkansas pick up the slack with 9 win type seasons?

This is shite. Just because the bottom teams(us, state, vandy) seem to be miserable, there are some pretty good teams at the top. One will pull away this weekend. I won't tell you who, but it will happen in Fayeteville, and it will be UA...( The one people know will win)
