There are very few exceptions. 1972 and 2013 come to mind. I went to both game and each was won on fluke plays.
Absent the Kick Six, we would have played OT, Auburn with momentum, and the better kicker. Granted, Bama should have won that game and had plenty of chances to do so (and would have kicked the !@#$ out of FSU).
Much as I hate it, I see a pretty comfortable win for Bama this year.

The favorite almost always wins the Iron bowl.

1972: AU was #8 AP, 8-1, with the lone loss to #11 LSU
2013: AU was #4 AP, 10-1, with the lone loss to #15 LSU
So it's not like they were huge upsets.

This is out of left field. If anything Auburn fans are guarded with their predictions of a win, and most see it as an uphill battle. We have key injuries on offense that already struggled against top defenses to score.
The only thing that we are confident in or at least myself is our defense is pretty damn good. If our offense can find something and at least keep our defense off the field some it will be competitive.

There it is, our season in a nutshell.
And we are confident because we are fans. Did you think we would hide under a rock? We are in the SEC and we all love to talk smack.

No, but I think we were favored in both. I know we were in 2013. In 1972 we were undefeated and ranked #2 going in to the AU game so we probably were favored in that one too.
