Born and raised in Arkansas, went to my first game in 1990 when I was 9. Couldn't afford to go to school there but I would go to Fayetteville and party with my friends who went to U of A.

Im a fan of NC State as my Father went to Grad School there, which is where he met my mother who also attended.

I am an Ole Miss fan as my father was born and raised in Jackson Mississippi, and attended Ole Miss as did his father (my grandfather) before him

Parents, siblings, myself all graduated from AU pharmacy school, we love the business of drugs.
Always supported AU regardless of how many wins/losses of the football team, it's all good.

I don't think you fully understand the gravity of earning a degree from the university. An Alma Mater's ties are much deeper than those of "screaming at the top of your lungs".

So he didn't care because he wasn't cheering for a team that was a consistent winner at the time? I understand now.

What if your kids go to a rival school? Buddy of mines wife went to au and their kids go to Bama. She is now a Bama fan.

Why couldn't she just be an Auburn fan? Does the fact that other people in her family attend a different university somehow void her of your own opinion and loyalty?

All of my older brothers went to Auburn, so I grew up a die-hard Auburn fan. Growing up in a community full of ignorant, arrogant, half-witted Alabama "fans' only confirmed my good judgement.

IMHO, nothing is wrong with being a sidewalk fan of any team you choose, but my experience is that the worst "fans" of most teams are sidewalkers.

I'm just the opposite. I grew up the biggest Ole Miss fan of anyone around. Then when I went to State it all changed. I agree with OBReb you are the worst kind of fan.

I agree. I was the biggest Ole Miss fan, homer you could find. People from my old hometown who I lost touch with can't believe I wear Maroon and White now. When I tell them I went to school and graduated from State they understand. I know a few more like skyraper who like Bama, but they went to Ole Miss or State. It's people like this that make me HATE Bama.

I was dead set on going to Florida. But didn't want to have student loans. TOPs kept me in state and I visited tech, usl, and lsu. This was 2000. Was a huge tiger baseball fan growing up and free admission to school and baseball games won me over. Never saw myself at a large school. Really liked tech
