You do realize teams practice during the week, yes? It's not like Harris is throwing the ball 16 times on a Saturday and that's it for the week.

I'm not that dense. I'm talking about opportunities during the game.

Scruffy forgets Muschimp is gone, and even he made Les quit in 2012. Mac will own LSU like Spurrier did in the '90s.

There are plenty of passes called. Harris/Cam just reads the defense and check out. Most teams when a team showed blitz or stacks the box check to a play that's opposition of that defensive schemes strengths. LSU just runs away from that strength. Which leads to big run plays.
If it's not broke don't fix it.

Great point. Practice is a great substitution for game action. I called the Flamingo, they're gonna go ahead and pay up my Jeremy Johnson Heisman winnings.

Good point. JJ does have more completions.

To the other team.

Y'all aren't the least bit worried that he's gonna 2014 Auburn the first game that shite starts to fly in? I don't understand why Les doesn't let him sling the ball to get comfortable.

He doesn't need to. Les will let him throw when LSU plays a team with a pulse - until then, let LF build a Heisman case.

Harris has yet to be benched because of his actions during in-game situations...so I guess practice is paying dividends.

It's a safe, smart high percentage approach based on what LSU has. Throws people off a bit since its a bit old school, but don't fix what isn't broken. Drops have hurt a bit, and penalties even more. I was a big Tommy Frazier fan back in the day, and this style is the closest I've seen since. Florida fans should remember that guy, pretty darn effective

This.

Harris is completing over 60% of his passes, for 100 YPG, and isn't turning the ball over. He's also added 117 yards and 2 scores on the ground. He's shown he's just enough of a threat with his arm and legs to keep defenses from putting 9 or 10 in the box to key on number 7. That's all that has been needed, up to this point.

With that said, I do think he's going to need to be more of a threat passing during the meat of LSU's schedule. 150-175 YPG and 1 score, while continuing to take care of the ball, would be more than enough IMO. That's not out of the question by any means.

Because he doesn't need to throw. He has LF7. He's not stupid like Lane Kiffin

1. we have a devastating rush attack.
2. we are easing him in.

Now that is all according to less. We saw last game he is starting to complete passes down field. Thats good. He looks composed, and he is doing the right things. I don't think we will ever throw it 30 times a game, but i think he can if we need him to.
