you don't think a home game vs UF will generate more revenue than a home game vs a cupcake?

it's truly astounding.

no one bitched at all when LSU willingly did this in 2005. Now all of a sudden everyone wants to let Foley off the hook for A) not listening to Alleva and everyone else on planet earth that said the game would be cancelled and B) getting his shite pushed in through negotiations

it's not even up for debate anymore. LSU tried to play the game at UF and Foley tried to weasel around and it bit him in the arse.

Sorry

Florida always had a better chance of playing for the SEC championship game than LSU.

Dude, the score was 0-0 in the 4th. You were 10 minutes of football away from beating your wife and having revenge sex with your pets.

Have you seen Florida play this year?

Is there not a topic on any web site where an Alabama fan has to but in and say, "hey guys, you know we have a pretty good football team, right?"

Jeeze....

The game got rescheduled because Florida had something to play for. LSU did not want to play the game. So Florida gets the chance to play for a conference championship this year AND LSU comes to Gainesville for the next two years.

So who got it in the arse again?

LSU used a hurricane to try to swindle an extra home game this year. The next time Louisiana gets hit by a massive hurricane, I hope that Florida's response isnt "how can we help?", but instead "Hey I have an idea! Let's play your home game in the Swamp!"

Bra.............we were forced to play UT in 2005 on a Monday.

Get out of here.

You do realize when all this happened LSU had 1 conference loss right?

You've got to be a real tard to actually believe what you just typed.

UF did and will again on Saturday when we spoil your chances at going to Atlanta. I'll be at the game and will be tiger baiting the shite out of every person I see with gel in their hair wearing jorts.

And you should go read the posts that LSU fans have made in this thread.

They're quite comical.

LSU moved 3 games when Rita and Katrina hit.

Guess what gators? This game could have been played at its original date and time. You would have lost that one too though.

it's clear in the aftermath that if it was up to LSU, this game would...

...have been played in Florida Sunday or Monday.

LSU did it before, why couldn't Florida?

Alleva warned Foley that it would be very hard to re-schedule it for any other weekend.

Foley was an intransigent bitch who thought he could just dictate terms to LSU. Turns out he was wrong. Maybe next time ADs will have a little more respect for each other in these types of negotiations.

I predict that at next summers SEC meeting, the ADs will get together and come up with a protocol for just such occasions. I can almost guarantee you that the new protocol will look VERY much like what LSU was proposing the week before the storm - as all the other ADs will want to minimize impacts on other games scheduled later in the year.
