It's frustrating but they won't show up until we start winning. Happened in 2000, 2006 and 2009.

Brady at times looked like he had the program on the right track but it all fell apart after the final four team. Trent was a bad hire who didn't make nice with the right people.

I believe JJ has us headed upward, but until they win consistently people will save tier money for football and baseball

I don't know if this is necessarily true of LSU fans, but I do think some fan bases are afraid of anything taking away from the football team and the image of their football program. So they reject it in fear.

As an example, while UK has rarely been good at football, the football program seems that much worse because it's only natural to compare them to the basketball program. On the other hand, State's football program is equally bad but since they've never been good at anything they don't SEEM as bad at football. So what would happen if Bama suddenly became NC contenders in basketball for a few years in a row while being a little down in football? Many fans would probably be upset and blame the basketball program for any number of things like taking up resources.

It would take me a year to sort through your posts but you have said you like softball more than baseball in the past. It was notable to me because I can't remember ever hearing that from anyone else.

Well we sucked for the last 10-12 years. And it is looking like the trend will continue, I thought this team was different but.

Yeah, I would rather watch a softball game than a baseball game, but I would rather watch neither. I don't have anything close to a love of softball.

Little faster paced, fewer innings.

this doesn't have anything to do with it at LSU

to the OP, most people have a limited amount of disposable income they are going to devote to LSU athletics. Football tickets are expensive, tailgating is expensive. The rest usually goes to baseball. Basketball is last in the pecking order.

Sustained success leads to winning. They were doing well OOC until URI right before the SEC opener.

At Alabama, students can attend basketball games for free. General admission tickets are quite cheap. Like 10-20 bucks

Now that I really think about it I think the rise of the Saints and even more than that the rise of the Hornets/Pelicans may have had a fairly significant negative impact on LSU basketball support. LSU fan support seems to have fallen off shortly before and around the time those two teams emerged. I still don't think that is a great excuse considering Baton Rouge alone could easily support full arenas each game but.there may be something to that.

Interesting point but I think we need a superstar. Was rocking when we had Chris Jackson and Shaq.

Because as showcased tonight whenever we pay the slightest bit attention they fold and play terribly

Just let baseball season start already

like i said, it's our 3rd sport and it's just not the cultural touchstone that football and baseball are in BR.
