It has been very loud since the expansion. It does seem to be more open/lower slope than other stadoums., however.

No shite. You guys don't know how to will your team to victory either. The entire 4th quarter and Overtime on 11.5.11, you guys sat on your fricking hands and made no noise. You only cheer when the going is good

Its this way everywhere. Every fanbase has their "sittttdown ay cane seeee" crowd.

If you're in the older crowd and dont want people standing the entire game, ok i get it. But it absolutely infuriates me when I get told to sit down on 3rd down or a big offensive possession.

I'm talkin punch a kid mad.

I think it's the very shallow slope of the stands compared to a lot of other stadiums more than anything. Alabama fans aren't consistently loud as say LSU, Florida, or even Auburn. Having said that, we do bring the noise as well as most places on occasion (2002 UGA, 2003 Oklahoma, 2005 Florida, end of 2007 UGA, 2008 Auburn, etc. The pick 6 in the 2002 UGA by Charlie Peprah was the loudest I've ever heard a stadium and I've been to all the big SEC stadiums.

How many National titles has a 65 year old Bama seen? They just don't care as much as the rest of us.

A lot of people compare Bama football to Kentucky basketball but I actually think UNC basketball is a more apt comparison. Both schools have been so spoiled over the years that the atmosphere for their home games isn't as intimidating as other venues.

They say it's hard to make a lot of noise when a bunch of people are missing teeth.

is this a 'fishing' joke? Denny Stadium is one of the loudest stadia in America. Those days from the 1970's and 1980's are over. That place will break the sound barrier.

BDS is quiet because they are spoiled. They expect to win ... They don't expect to have to cheer to help.

Eh, maybe I'm more critical because its my team, but I definitely think we could be a lot louder.

Don't even get me started with the "sit down" crowd. My first game after I graduated I was told that, and I sat. Only to appease someone who didn't make a noise the entire game. I stopped doing that. Now I just look at them and say "it's a college football" and shrugg my shoulders. In Dallas for the Michigan game I had a middle aged woman grab my shirt. Almost lost it.

Point is the only control a fan has at a game is to be loud and intimidate/disrupt play calling. It's a big factor.

Correct me if Im wrong, but the stadium expansion opened after Saban got there and there haven't been a lot of close home games to get the crowd pumped.

I was there for the 2010 Iron Bowl and you couldn't hear yourself think but that's the exception and not the rule
