We aren't Americans. We're texans

This is partly true. I think you're mainly saying this because our asphalt is a different color. I say that because it's not bad enough to be girlie about it, there's no pot holes on the high way or anything, it's just not as smooth as some places, but that black asphalt doesn't last as long.

there are more rednecks in tejas than any other state. the size of the population is the reason.
if you live in downtown Houston you probably don't see them, but drive to Conroe, Porter or any town in East Texas. you'll find them under every rock.
then, of course, you've got the "survivors" that are infected with the paranoia thing. they are everywhere around here digging their bunkers, discussing ways to kill Obama and Hillary Clinton and attending their version of the KKK meetings.

I have been to South Carolina. Your rednecks are just different than our rednecks. I am educated, had a good job before I retired, live in suburbia in an upper middle class community, enjoy hunting, fishing, enjoy gardening and yard work so in a sense, I have redneck tendencies. I have watched Duck Dynasty but don't follow it religiously nor do I wear a rebel flag bandana. So, there are degrees of redneck. What type are you?

Conroe is not East Texas. It's 10 min from the Woodlands

I have met many "rednecks" from out of the south. Michigan, Pa., even California and Florida (oops, did I say out of the sounth)

Yet there are plenty of rednecks there too

And then there's Mississippi.
Yeah. Sorry we don't let other states push us around and pressure us into stupid kneejerk reactions like the rest of you.

Why does this board try to act like any state is less redneck than the next?
Because you sleep with your sister.

When will they let your bars get to stay open late like every other state?
I know they finally allowed cold beer a few years ago

Mississippi has less rednecks than every other southern state except Arkansas. Damn, I'm getting tired of being right

Good thing Dallas, Austin, Houston and San Antonio aren't Kilgore, Tyler, Longview, Carthage, Athens, or Daingerfield.
You're right though. East Texas might as well be Shreveport/Bossier.

I vacation in New Orleans every year and don't recall having any major problems with roadways. I also enjoy the scenic route down I 55 going into New Orleans.

I hate to admit it, but coming from South Arkansas, they actually improve once you cross into LA.
