I feel similarly these days.

Sort of how Facebook confronted me with how stupid and petty and narcissistic most humans are, non-stop saturation coverage of sports has made me realize how stupid and over-hyped it all is.

I thought I was just getting old, but I think it is more about media burn-out (he typed, on a sports message board he had spent over an hour reading that very day).

Baseball I could care less about. Even Football to an extent. But I'd be really bummed about Basketball. Its 2-2.5 hours not overly long. Basically whenever I want to see a movie, I just go watch basketball games. No heat, no large crowds, just a relaxed atmosphere

I agree somewhat. I like that you can just turn on some random (or even not so random) basketball game on a tuesday night and just watch it. The "EVENT" of a CFB game has made it really kinda lame.

This.

I need to find a small school to follow and attend a few games. Imagine going to a football game without TV timeouts and a new jumbotron AD BLAST at every single time-out.

It must be amazing...

Agree. If I watch a football game on saturday now pretty much my whole day is centered around it. It takes 3.5-4 hours for a football game now, eapecially on CBS. I tried to study and watch buy it doesn't happen. Bball is short and I can take a break and catch a game and not lose too much time

It's crazy how CFB has grown even in the last ten years, much less the last 40. I think it has to reach critical mass at some point soon. But then I remember who the average fan is, and I'm probably wrong.

How can you say this and still call yourself a sports fan?
I don't pretend to be a huge sports fan. I like SEC football and hoops. Casual NFL fan. Don't watch baseball, NBA, NASCAR, MMA, etc. Watch some Golf. Watch Premier League some. Watch World Cup Soccer and Olympic stuff. Didn't care who won the game last year.

It's not like I'm any less of a Bama fan than I was in 2009. But I remember that month prior to the Texas game being so long. Didn't care for Christmas or New Years just football. Of course I was 15

I think this will happen when the playoff expands. I really hope it doesn't happen.

Last year's national championship game had the exact same feeling. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that there's such a nine day gap between the last bowl game and the NCG. The CFB season feels like it's over but it's not over. Just play the game tomorrow instead of making us wait until Monday. They could also just have the two playoff games kick off bowl season on the third Saturday of December and have the national championship game as the Primetime game on New Year's Day. Imagine how huge the ratings would be if the NCG was played on New Year's Day.

I was losing my mind(in a good way) before the last 3 NCs and these last 2 semis. I'm very "meh" in comparison for this Clemson game. I think it's because of the amount of football we just got, the wait, and dammit...I got shite to do now. I'll end up doing it, but I'm not all that excited to drink my arse off on a Monday. School starts soon. I'm just out of it as far as CFB goes.

Don't you dare try to tell me which dicks I can and cannot be obsessed with.

You are only pissed at me because your coach can't find his dick. Touchy subject (or not so touchy in his case).

Only two teams and fanbases left and you have to wait over a week and a half from all the main bowls to find out who will be the NC. Plus, when you win your last game vs your rival, your conf CG, and then the first round of the plàyoffs that's a lot of confetti. So it's confetti overload.

This. Even as an Alabama fan, this season feels over. Feels like everyone has gone home and moved on with their lives until next season starts. The BCSNC felt like a celebration of the season that capped it perfectly.

It doesn't even feel like there is a game still to be played. I hate how the championship game is like a week after all the other bowls have finished.

The thought of this is exhausting to even think about. Like I said on the first page, after all that shite(plus a November gauntlet), I feel like it's just luck being here. Someone has to win the games. Glad Alabama is here, but damn, let's wrap this shite up.
